New helmet options
« on: July 02, 2017, 03:23:25 AM »

Folks, I have been using an old Masuri helmet last few years and it was quite good. However, it doesnt have as much protection on the sides as the newer ones, so thinking of getting one with the newer grills. However, I tried a friend's masuri helmet large size and it was quite tight on the sides and I actually felt it painful on my head on the sides. I knew I need a large size but I was surprised that even the largest Masuri helmet is so tight on the sides. Surprisingly my old masuri is so comfy and is more rounder oval shape which fits nicely compared to the full oval shape newer masuri.  I wanted to try the Shrey but I have read the build quality issues and hence hesitant. Still as newer Masuri doesn't seem to fit me, looks like I need to consider the Shrey...

Anyone else had this issue of  tightness on the sides with Masuri? Does the Shrey have a rounder shape that might solve this issue?

I've got a few air liner helmets in stock (soon to be relaunched as the PremAYR) if size is an issue or lots of PremierTek 👍

I have an original air liner. I love it. Seriously buy one. Mine bit tatty now part of the bag stuck to top of helmet over a winter. Tom do you still do refurbs and resprays? I've changed clubs so would love to go navy to green and get a new set of badges printed.

Thanks @Ayrtek Cricket. Just not a fan of the ayrtek shape and prefer the traditional shape, though I only heard good things about it here. The grill also is smaller on the sides compared to the masuri/shrey and similar to the older masuri i have, so looking for the new masuri/shrey shapes..

Anyone knows which of the following is lighter for 2017 ranges: Masuri VS Test titanium vs Shrey Air masterclass titanium and if there is a huge difference in weight...From the  video reviews, looks like these have similar shape on the  helmet interior and seem it might fit me, while the Masuri legacy and OS2 shapes (both of which have a different interior compared to VS series/shrey air) which i tried from my friends was the one i had difficulty fitting.

@adb club cricketer , @WalkingWicket37 did a good write up on these (actually the VS elite, rather than test).
