You can catch one ball of me here (Kookaburra fkw) running it through gully... Unfortunately the camera went flat or ran out of data. Got 47* that game, tracked their opening bowler and stuck him over the groundsmans shed. Anyone whose played at Firle knows its a lovely ground, and that the shed is a fair old hit!

Made a decision of sorts.

Ive spoken with a mate who plays at Ansty and apparently they don't have any spinners. Going to have a net with them Thursday evening and see how it goes.

If they're not for me, I will keep looking around and will be in touch with anyone whose suggested their clubs to find when trainings are over winter.

Thanks all for your help!

Nice club always had a good day there, play a good level too! Clubhouse is a bit old now but definitely not the worst around.

Righto. My mate who plays there said they had none, either way from the contact I've had with their skipper so far they don't have a leg spinner which suits me well.

Hailsham are a decent club, got a very very good overseas.

Do Hailsham still play in a park across the road from the social club? Played them in a tour game and hated the ground but very socialable bunch of guys.

Rottingdean was a nice ground from memory and play a decent standard, or did when we played them. Just down the road from Brighton.

Yeah they do with the tenis courts behind, its not a picturesque ground at all but the wicket has always been decent for both

@mohawks94 Looks like you will be playing Div 2 next year for Ansty.

The league is having a massive restructure and merging the East, West, Mid and Sussex Prem into 1 pyramid scheme.

Our 1's will be in Central Div 6 with our games being within a max of 5 miles from our club - no more long drives  ;)

Yeah. Their skipper got in touch last week and they're very keen to get me on board which is nice.

Ive seen some grumbling about the restructuring as Firle are going from ESCL div 2 into div 6 I think.

@mohawks94 not sure why they are complaining - that's the correct league... there were 6 leagues in the Sussex prem and most the 2nd XI teams are poor. that's the whole point of the restructure - to get the poor teams lower and the better teams higher - will take a few years to work its way out.

I can see that view, but Firle are frustrated at being stuck into a division with the likes of East Dean and Friston. They don't like the grounds in the proposed division as much as the one they are in currently.

East Dean & Friston is in the league above  - they should look at getting promoted to play better teams.
