Stinky gloves
« on: August 02, 2017, 07:58:33 PM »

I train quite often and despite wearing inner gloves, my batting gloves still stink!

Any ideas on how to clean them and get rid of the smell?

Put them through the washing machine. Cold wash a little softener. While you're there, put your bat grips in too.

2nd putting them in the washing machine

If you want to soften the palms up after they've dried apply some hand cream to them  :)

Am I supposed to be ignoring comments like these?

It was a genuine comment about how to keep your gloves supple after putting them through the washing machine.

Now you've pointed it out I can see the double entendre I so innocently didn't notice when posting...

Ive been told using baby powder is a good solution . Haven't tried it yet,  but you sprinkle /dust the powder into the glove palm and each finger .

It doesn't ruin the leather?

Why the bat grips?

It hasn't ruined mine. I did it to all my gloves at the start of the season and they are all still going strong.
Why the bat grips?
I use quite a lot of white grips. It gives them a clean and removes the grease which makes them more grippy.

I put a pair through and they came out lovely. May depend on the temperature/detergent etc.
