Hi guys, I'm very interested in the B20 from BlankBats but I'm just wondering how the new 40mm new edge law would change the bats profile - the bat in the itsjustcricket video had 47mm edges. Ideally I'm looking for something around 2'10-2'11.

I think that it's only really an issue if you're playing professionally.

"A bat gauge will ensure that the new limits are adhered to in the professional game, whilst a moratorium period, allowing players to use their existing bats which may be in breach of the Law, will be allowed in the amateur game.

The length of the moratorium will be determined by local governing bodies and may vary for different levels of cricket."

From what B&S have been told the restrictions  effective October 2017 on bat size is for Proffesionals only .Minor County Players will follow this Rule in 2 years time and Club,Village,Social Cricketers 8-10 years but then again this could be Bull S.....

At our levels of cricket, have seen people with the carbon backed Kook bats, the odd laminate and a few other long-time banned bats.
Some Umpires struggle to see to the other end of the wicket so the last thing on their mind is what is supposed to be legal and not.

As people have said, the new laws are aimed at David Warner Pro players who use 50mm edges. Only kidding - Warner isn't the only Pro player who uses large bats. I can't see the point in it myself - most batmakers will tell you that the benefits are marginal. The main gain for power is pressing!
I wonder if they will try and Police how a bat should be pressed next?

Thanks all so now i'm just wondering how the performance would compare between the B20 and something with a fuller profile like the B1 when hitting out of the middle?

My league has decided to not enforce the rule. They are relying on the fact that bats will break and people will buy new bats which will fall within the regulation size.
