Looking to buy a new custom made bat. Please advise
« on: August 08, 2017, 03:22:53 PM »

Hi All,

I am in Canada and looking to buy a new custom made bat. I have heard a lot about Laver & Wood, Newbery, Salix and Robert pack cricket.

I am a middle order batsman who likes to score quick runs. We generally play on hard pitches here and the ball does not bounce much. I want a light weight bat which has an extended sweet spot (middle to low).

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

If you could give people an idea of budget, that would help.

Also, which company can i rely on in terms of service? Should I pick from one of these 4 (Laver & Wood, Newbery, Salix and Robert pack cricket) or are there any other companies that I should explore?

Thank you

There are other forum sponsors who can make similar bats for much less. You can also look at RS.

This is excellent advice, all the forum sponsors I've dealt with have been excellent on service and bats. Red Ink, H4L, B3 and Vitas all do a top custom service in addition to the brands you mentioned already, for a custom bat I'd personally go with any of those ahead of Newbery and probably Salix (not sure Salix actually do customs?).
