Ok fellas - This is part 1 of Screaming Cats reviews.
I would call part 1 review the "photo review", as it will contain mostly just photos plus a few details about the bat(s)!
The 2nd part will be a "performance review", which will follow alot later! In the case of the Premium Screaming Cat, the 2nd review will only take place once the bat's been knocked in and used in the nets, or in a match!
So here we go with Part 1:
Screaming Cat Professional
Managed to get this bat second hand. Condition was a few light surface cracks, but nothing major! Sent it away to Salix for a refurb - they said the cracks were not that bad, and they could either get into the cracks, and do complete repairs which would ensure the life of the bat but would mean performance level would not be quite as high as it was. OR he could simply add some surface bond and a decent face sheet and it may not last quite as long but performance would not be affected!! So just had to be the second option, as there's no point in getting a Screaming Cat Professional unless you are gonna use it the way it's meant to be used!!
Have used it a few times in the nets, and it is a superb bat! It is light, perfectly balanced, and dare I say....professional ping!! It weighs in at a spritely 2lb 8oz, and it really does feel as though I could bat all day in a match – just wish I could bat well enough to bat all day!
Screaming Cat Premium
Not too much to say about the bat yet – again a feather-like 2lb 8oz. Both this bat and the Professional look reasonably sized for the weight. The willow has some butterfly marks but I am sure it will still go like an absolute train once it’s fully knocked in! Have only given it a little knock with the ping-o-meter mallet so far, and it feels very good – 8 out of 10. But I get the feeling that this ping-o-meter score will increase considerably after 4 hours with the mallet!
Hope you all enjoy the photos
