Are we generalizing all GN Aussie made to be made personally by Kranzbuhler? GN Australia has more than one bat-maker. And as far as I know there's no indication on the bats if they're made by him. Meulemans state that their Warner replicas and XXX bats are made by Stuart himself, add the Legend Golds and the Legends(maybe not all).

I've seen people here say look for an 'S' on the shoulder but I think that's BS. The 2015 bats I've seen had an 'S', the 2016 ones all had a 'T' and from what I've seen here on the forum the 2017 ones have a 'U'.

Happy to be corrected :)

Have you seen the "XXX" line of GN AUS bats? They are shaped like Warner but under 2-9. The "custom" XXX-11 model goes for the same price as the Warner; I netted with one in 2-8 range. I wish I had the timing for such a light bat but the ping on that thing...wooooooo!!!!!!

Be far to light for me. The big ones are mainly around my weight. So I'm happy.

There's no special ingredient here. GNs are well made bats. His bats are well pressed and the handles are good quality. The big edge and spine has been Stu's draw card for a few seasons. 50 Plus, Kaboom and XP80. Every time i post a big edge whatever my page counter goes wild. So all the big edge lovers are fully satisfied with Stus bats.

Then there are the handmade collection bats. Same traits minus the 50 mm edges. They are very good bats. Are they the best in the business....? If that's the question I think the answer is no. What about all the other hardworking bat makers out there making fine bats that are easily as good as anything GN makes, less the fact you may not be able to get a bat with big 50 mm edges.

I see your point but the consistency I have seen in his bats is rare. I think TK is the only other bat maker that comes close. For out-of-the-box performance in a "normal" sized bat, I'd take a CA any day.

I suspect this is the last season where we will see big bats released by GN AUS as: a. they will no longer make big bats to comply with new regulations; b. they will have used up all the stock of big clefts.

His "normal" sized bats are outstanding as well!

I agree with you @sarg! I don't like big edges bats personally. I prefer a balance/good pick up bat with 35 mm edges with full profile. I have few TK made bats and they are all 35-38 mm edges but their middle are amazing.

I'm in the UK.

I have tried to get a similar bat made up many times, even sending the kranzbular warner to said bat makers to copy.

Not one has come up with a similar weapon. Size pick up, balance and ping just aren't there.
There good bat's, there just not my warner kaboom(maybe I had an extra special one, many on here have seen it, so they can decide on that)

In fact the closest I have, is an off the shelf kahuna extreme. That is pingalicious.

Cant agree more on that. I also tried to have a copy made of my GN 50+ but it was very different in terms of pick up, feel & ping. And Kook Xtreme/Obscene are the closest in terms of ping to a GN big bat.

I think his name sounds more intimidating and powerful than his bats.

@adjal  there are 4 batmakers at the factory ,  2 with more than 30years experience , the big bats are stu's domain because of the extra time taken ,  retailers also pay for stu to complete exclusive ranges ie XXX , shaun marsh & kane williamson replicas  + the unique legend gold , & i can tell you that ALL the 50plus made were of a supreme quality.  @InternalTraining  some big clefts still left , & will not be wasted , they are amazing to see raw , you would love the 30mm plus toes ,  45mm edge velocity players & xxx11 hand crafted are available but selling fast.

Kranzbuhler shapes the 10, the XXX11 are specially made by Spinal Tap.

xxx11 hand crafted are available but selling fast.

By this statement I assume that only the XXX11 Handcrafted model (Top of the range) are actually hand made by SK then @Aussiecollector and not the lower grades/jnr models?
