True that but right now, I would like to support UK bat makers while indulging my (hopefully temporary) craze.  Also, I'm not able to do my DD on makers in other countries and will have to rely on stockists.

Point taken - my day job involves slapping people upside the head (figuratively speaking) and telling them to stop being irrational and be responsible with their money.  But I also do know that every once in a while, you need to indulge your madness.  This is probably the only craze I've picked up since collecting turn-based computer games 20 years ago.

And I don't believe you're getting the point.  My aim is not to get the best stick - I'm kind of an over the hill player anyways who is inconsistent, poor eyes and will only play a good innings only once in a while to get any benefit from having an absolute gun.  I do derive genuine enjoyment from seeing all my bats stacked side by side.  And for that, I do need a few sticks.  Yes, this is wasteful, yes, this is irrational, Yes I may even have buyer remorse, but it's harmless in the end if it stops with a couple of thousand quid up in smoke.  I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't gamble, so I reckon I have built up some goodwill to blow on a craze.

I do want an Affinity Carbine at some point along with a Black Cat and a White Willow bat.  Just out of curiosity, which of your bats are match bats and which would you use in which match situation?  Like for instance, you're batting at No. 6 with 10 overs to go, which bat do you reach for?  Or you are opening in a timed match, batting second with 55 overs to face, which bat do you take out to the middle?

I use all my bats in at least one match a season or otherwise I pass them on. The 'best' ones, in no particular order, are the Aldred Supreme, H4L NV, Affinity Carbine Sport (grade 2/3), and the Red Ink.
For Hard, bouncy tracks I use a mid/high middle bat that has some weight behind (Aldred, red ink). For wet ones I go for the Affinity/NV.

As someone who doesn't smoke drink or gamble and as no other interests outside cricket and as
 many bats and spends more time looking at them than using them (i buy 3  bats a year ) and only use one fully understand you wanting a collection.

34 keep them in a dry clean garage out of there sleeves so the willow can breathe  they are all in an excellent  clean condition bats are checked and played around with most days ball marks scuffs are cleaned off toes are checked  dryness and ping  checked etc.

I have been through this stage and am now almost over it. This is a dangerous hobby unless you have lots of free funds available.

Sounds like me. Though I keep them in their covers and in the house. I sand, oil and rescuff them all at the end of each season, and wash the grips through the season every couple of weeks.
They are all important to me and kept in as pristine a condition as possible.

only two things i give a stuff about ... my fishing gear and my cricket gear .
i have 36 fishing rods (all get used regularly ) and about 17 bats (some get used , some are in the queue ).
look after your gear like its the most precious thing in your life. and buy heaps of it if it makes you happy .
i dont relate to buying a stack of lower grade , same profile bats (think i would just collect stickers myself) , but if it is exciting for you , stuff the rest of us and indulge in your fancy !
