Fair play to Bangladesh - recent Test wins over England and Australia

Would love to see them take the next step and start winning a few away from home

England drew the series away from home against Bangladesh which I thought at the time was a great result.

I would argue the opposite senario for a while to be honest.how about this?

Any new test side, so Bangladesh and I believe soon to be Ireland...get to play on the own conditions for the early part of their test status.so all teams play them away, and all teams must do in rotation.

Cancel out the financial pie disgrace between Australia India and us and spread the game. That gives home fans the chance to see their team.

Let's say hypothetically ....and I know this is a stretch......Kenya get test status...they get to play at home for the first few years.

Only then can cricket be a really global game and the ridiculous suggestion that you need two divisions can be binned as a stupid idea.becuae the two division argument is rich v poor-that's all it is.

When you can fill a stadium in Dhaka/Bulawayo/Malahide

Not only does it make logistical sense, it makes financial sense too where 20% of 3000 packed house away series takings is better than 80% of 1 man and his dog.

Doesnt work for me to only let teams play games at home

They either want test status or they dont. Should be home and away fixtures across the board

Im sure the new test players would say the same if you told them they wouldnt be travelling to Lords, Adelaide, Wanderers etc but would carry on playing at the same home grounds they've played at for the last 10 years vrs the affiliates that they've worked so hard to leave behind

I think the best thing you can do for the fledgling test sides is actually play against them ! None of this crap like oz not playing in Bangladesh since 2011 or 2009 or whenever it was . We haven't had them in Australia since mid year tours where they were 'afforded the luxury' of playing in darwin and cairns . Same as Zimbabwe,  who i know have had their troubles recently , but I'm sure heath streak was still around the last time they were in Australia.  Not goood enough ! Play them home and away more often . If Zimbabwe only ever play bangladesh and the west indies and affiliates then they'll never improve beyond a certain point .
Also , we need to get pakistan back playing true home tests asap. That will not only help their cricket and finances , it will help everyone else too . Afghanistan could play some 'home' games in Pakistan too (if pakistan was able to host international cricket) instead of in india .
Aganistan should be played by any touring party heading to play pakistan , sri lanka , bangladesh , or india . Similarly , Ireland should be get a test or two before any nation tours england (or even the windies) ... this is the least we can all do .

That was a phenomenal effort by Handscomb.  He had his 'dean jones in madras' moment and made it to stumps . What a champion . He did look in serious trouble a few times . When he bent over and had two foot of meucus hanging out of his nose wasn't a pretty moment either . Hope he gets his ton tomorrow.

Same amount of test centuries as Mark Waugh. 13th on the all time Ozzie century list, 33rd on the all time international century list.

He can't be far away from being a modern great of the game surely?

Smith averages almost TWENTY runs more - that is an insanely large gap.

It is when you round up 13 to 20!

Smith also rarely has to face the new ball, Warner's only ever not opened 3 times. Not saying he's a better player, just that averages don't tell the whole story. Otherwise Voges is better than both!
