I may be overreacting here, but this has really wound me up!
I was repairing a teammates Salix for him, and as he only owns one bat (weirdo) he had to borrow one while I had it.
Being the mug I am, I let him borrow one of my Hunts County bats so he wasn't left without one. The alarm bells started ringing when he took it out of the bat sleeve, and handed that back to me. I let it slide and assumed his bag must have had a padded sleeve or something.
Anyway, long story cut short I returned the bat to him and I received my bat back. I was assured the bat was looked after as if it was his own (remember I was repairing his Salix) and it was "still in great condition"
Anyway, I received it back looking like this:
Now the marks on the edge I can accept as these can happen through use.
What has really pissed me off is the white paint down the back! How did this happen? Why did he let it happen to a borrowed bat?
If he'd admitted it was in a state I wouldn't have been too upset, but the fact I was told it had been looked after and was still in good condition has really annoyed me.
Am I overreacting, or is it justified I want to rip the blokes throat out and I'll never lend anyone kit ever again?
