Its a press Im making to use myself for my own bats - I don't want to keep borrowing another companies press when I need to use one as it adds an additional cost (and travel time) into the bat. It's based upon a conventional design and engineered using tolerances that have been used for other presses. Ive applied the age old adage of making the calculations and then working above them to ensure there are no issues of strength. For example the motor driving it is 3hp, the lead screw 40mm, and the steel framing material 4mm thick. All the power just ensures that it won't stall as it drives it under the roller. As the roller is easy to adjust in fractions of a mm the pressing will vary depending upon how low you drop the roller - which is a pretty conventional approach. The press will still require a skilled user to ensure that you end up with a bat that has that desired ping to it - which again is how any press would work (over pressing/under pressing is in the hands of the user not the machine). Ive several main expensive components in duplicate and thought Id see if there was anyone who wanted to own one before I sell the spare parts on ebay.
