Have not seen many Chase Posts - therefore I am starting one 

I have like the shape of the chase bats for a while, but the stickers imo were not great.

The 2018 range below, I think is a step in the right direction for chase, nice and modern but again imo.

Has anyone bought one from them direct? If so, what grade did you buy? did the bat require any further knocking in? what was the performance like? would you recommend? what is their customer service like? have you had a bad one which they replaced etc?

No ownership experience but two teammates use them, pros and cons. One bought his brand new off that mvclayton lad on ebay, an R4 Volante which is a fantastic stick. Great pressing, needed very little prep and goes like a train. Other teammate is a longterm Chase user and fan, bought his latest one back end of last season and this season it went clean in half, storm damage. Chase offered a discount only rather than replacement as he bought it the previous season, he wasn't all that amused. No idea how representative that is of their service.

I had a FLC a couple of seasons ago and it has to rank as one of the best bats I've used. Beautifully balanced, massive middle and about 15 grains. Ended up selling it to a mate in a moment of generosity and regretted it ever since.

@imran75 did you do much prep before use?

their site says they knock in their bats for 4 hours each...

@Churchy1989 yep, gave it a good bashing . Didn't need 4 hours though, more like a couple and then a few bucket against the bowling machine. It flew from the off, but then you'd expect that from a top of the line bat.

I should say that the handle was too thick for me, and that's with one snake scale grip. They said i could send it back to get the handle thinned but i couldn't be bothered in the end, so it couldn't have been that much of an issue!

The ones in the pics seem to have quite a thin handle..Almost Asian brand like...

Chase bats usually have some of the most oval handles in the business - almost square in some cases, and pretty thick too, although that has decreased slightly in the last couple of seasons.

We usually find them to take some of the least work to knock in of any of the brands we stock.

Having been to visit them, they press each bat individually, and can even press different sections of the same bat harder/softer, meaning sometimes they aren't the "flattest", with some lumps and bumps. It's a cool, fairly quirky idea, but means if bats have a hard bar or anything like that then they can still get the most performance out of them!

New decals for 2018 look lovely IMO!
