GN Velocity & XXX LE
« on: September 23, 2017, 02:35:35 AM »

My obsession with big Aussie GN bats made me buy 2 more from Meulemans. A Velocity in Players Choice & a XXX LE (G3). XXX 11 is made by Stuart Kranzbuhler according to Meulemans website. Boh bats are big for their weights as they are boosting 44+ mm edges and 67+ mm spines with full profiles.

Pickup on velocity is light and balanced compared to slight bottom heavy pickup of XXX. Reason for xxx pickup is the 72mm spine extending lower compared to Velocity.

Ping is pretty much same on bats. Velocity sounds deeper and pings pretty much every where on the blade. XXX is more mid sweet spot.

Velocity is 1.5cm shorter than a standard SH bat. XXX 11 is standard adult size.

There are 2 profiles available in XXX model. Xxx 11 is the one with big edges and high spine. The other XXX 10 is smaller edges and high spine.

Handles on both bats are standard thickness semi oval with medical tape as binding.

Here are few spec

Velocity Players Choice;
Sweet spot: Mid-Hi but start pinging 2 inches from the toe.
Edges: 44mm
Spine: 67mm
Profile: Full
Toe center: 25mm
Handle: Semi oval
Weight: 2-9
Size: 1.5 cm shorter than a Standard SH

XXX 11 LE:
Sweet spot: Mid
Edges: 45mm
Spine: 72mm
Profile: Full
Toe center: 25mm
Handle :semi oval
Weight: 2-8.6
Size: Standard SH

@jd163 , great bats! That XXX-LE is something. I netted with one and thought that for the weight, ping was amazing!! Who knows, I may make my friend an offer. :D

Let us know how they perform in the nets. :)

Impressive collection, which one is your favourite and which has the best performance?

Do you plan any more additions such as a Warner players Kaboom?

@Chalkie 50+ is both top performer and my favorite. Signature and xp80 are also outstanding in pickup and performance.
Warner Kaboom is a shorter bat compared to a standard SH bat and me being over 6 feet tall i cant use it.

@jd163  - I don't suppose you could treat us to a profile shot of your collection?

What's the weight of the 50+? I do like the look of those but bet it is tricky to find any under 2'12?

I agree on the XPs, both of mine are great.

I didn't think the Warners were shorter, are you sure about that?
