Good evening one and all!
Although a number of you will have spoken/met me in the past, I just wanted to do a little introduction now that I've become a sponsor on the forum. My name is Adam and I'm the sole owner of Neon so you'll have the pleasure (cough) of dealing with me for any interest or queries you may have!
Neon originally started out back in 2013 as part of my final year dissertation during my university studies. At the time I was the club captain for Swansea Uni CC, so naturally I managed to revolve my dissertation around the cricket market and the entry routes/barriers that existed for a new start-up. Part of this piece of work was to prepare a presentation, and I decided having a physical product to present would be better than just a 15,000 word document which is where Neon started. I originally had very little intention of starting out as an actual company, but being the cricket badger I am that didn't last long (Thank the remainder of my student loan for that one!!).
To speed things up, in short the first 2 seasons went better than I could ever have expected - so much so that once I'd graduated and moved into a 60+ hour a week recruitment job in central London it became just too much to devote the required level of time into the company that I needed to in order to satisfy the demand. It was at this point I made the hard decision to close the original company, and place Neon on a hiatus until a point where I knew I'd have the time to do what I wanted with the company.
And so, that brings us to earlier in the year. Having ditched the London lifestyle in exchange for the complete opposite end of the spectrum holed up in the middle of Wiltshire as a civil servant, I'd found I'd got so much spare time that I was quite frankly bored stiff - naturally it was at this point my mind started wandering back into the realms of Neon! The whole samples/re-design process started roughly early April, so plenty of time has already been spent getting things to where they are. With everything now out in the open I just hope you'll all as pleased with the range as I am! I've tried to steer away from the standard copying of other brands' designs, with a number of subtle changes across nearly all of the products (additional storage room on the duffle and different glove/pad designs as examples) - whilst there's only so much that can be changed, hopefully the time spent getting them to where they are shows!
Anyway, enough of me rabbiting on! If you have any queries over the coming months about any of the range/Neon in general, then please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm always willing to answer any queries you may have and hope to play an active part on the forum moving forwards!
I'll follow this up with a couple of threads containing pictures of the bats/softs shortly, along with an additional thread that will likely be the one of most interest to you all!
Cheers,
Adam
