Hunts is not going anywhere just to clarify. I've seen a few FB posts and some of the posts on this topic could be taken to assume that no Tony means no more bats and therefore no brand.

Matt, who was trained by Tony and has been making bats at Hunts for a number of years will be continuing to do so. The reality of the last couple of years is that most Hunts bats that were made in Huntingdon were made by Matt as the inevitability of old age caught up with Tony.

And I can testify that Matt makes a fine bat too.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tony. Towards the end of the day I turned up out of the blue and he was very generous with his time. He even gave me a tour.

Agreed! My Serbian willow bat is a beauty!

Enjoy a well-deserved retirement, chaps.
By happy coincidence, I just took delivery of a gorgeous custom Caerulex from them yesterday. The brand is safe in Matt's hands. 😁

Bad news - Had a couple of Hunts made by Tony - both absolutely lovely. Real shame but I guess he has earned his retirement!

Who's Robert Hook dare I ask?

He was there when I visited.
Nice bloke, think he did mostly re-handles that came in.
