Ayrtek Review
« on: February 06, 2010, 08:09:32 PM »

Guys,

Thought i'd do a full review on my new ayrtek today after recieving it at footie this afternoon :). Will focus on, looks, protection, comfort and customer service. I will compare it to my masuri titanium aswell just to give people a further insight into what they are like.

Looks

Very smart and flash, when i opened the box and bag i was really impressed, the blue is exactly how i wanted it and the yellow looked perfect. Depending on whether you a traditional or modern fan of helmets is the key. Personally i like them both, the masuri slightly more classy and ayrtek flashy but both are very good looking helmets.

Comfort

The helmet is much shallower and not as wide as the masuri, the air bladder works well though which improves the comfort of the helmet. I must say though personally i like the more snug fit further down you head of the masuri. The ayrtek is in no way uncomfy but feels more as if its on your head than around you head if you get me.....

Protection

Cant argue with facts, ayrtek is the best helmet out there in terms of protection. My masuri titanium grille doesnt fit on though which is slightly annoying but the ayrtek grill is pretty similar just cant get as bigger gap. The helmet is also so light on your head, noticably lighter than other helmets i've tried

Customer service

Tom was excellent, kept me updated with emails, texts and pics all the time. Was a quick turn around from ordering to getting and was so helpful i couldnt ask anymore of him. The best customer service i've ever experienced.

Finish

The helmet's glossy paint makes the helmets finish look top notch I feel it would be beneficial to Tom to maybe make templates instead of drawing on custom designs freehand. This could make the lines slightly straighter and of a higher quality however this is not a major issue.  Also quick question for you tom, how do i cut the vents out as front two are closed up from padding inside... ?

Overall

Absolutely stunning helmet which has no problem competing with all helmets on the market imo, will be using my masuri and ayrtek in nets to decide which one i will favour!! Also love the fact you can ge tit refurbed at end or mid season to either touch it up or change the design completely. I think this is a brill idea and one which other companies cannot do.

Cheers

Sam

Any questions just fire away :)

p.s. sorry about spelling!
