having held this H4L at the Eversley nets in Oct when it belonged to @DorsetDan you will not believe how light this thing is for its size - awesome bat!

Missing 3 bats as they’re being refurbed, but this is my kit for this season. I don’t care for updating my softs as they just need a wipe and they’re fine.

First my three match bats, knocked in and used in nets or games. All 2’10 - 2’11. The Merlin is actually a TK made Blitz in disguise, something very special from Tai that was apparently too big for a county player to us with the new regs.

Then my growing collection of ‘non-compliant’ big GNs, 3 bought since Christmas, from left to right:

▪️Kaboom players - 52mm edge, 75mm spine, 2’14.7
▪️Select Extreme - 47mm edge, 2’10 with toe guard. Rare to find these under 2’11, but Vinay found this one hiding in his store, he didn’t realise it was that light. Very decent looking for a G3
▪️Scoop 400 - 47mm, 2’9.8 (with scuff) from a forumite, arrived this week. Again decent looking G3
▪️Pro Performance- 49mm, 2’10.4 - 1 inch shorter overall.

Added the XP80 in the profile shot for comparison - 25mm edge, 81mm spine, 2’10.6

Not sure which one to knock in and use first - maybe the scoop?

For softs I have a lovely set of BBs I have been using for nets, and some new GN Predator 1000s so I can FKW if the urge takes me.

Nice collection. I was impressed with the select extreme I saw in my local Tony Pryce. Had a thicker handle than most other GN's and was full and well priced.

Handle is thicker than the others and very impressive bat for G3. More expensive than the standard Select but worth it

I made the mistake of lending it to our Skip at a nets session as he lost a chunk off his match bat. At the end of the net he insisted he had to have it and I was feeling the need to buy a scoop so let him take it off my hands.

That scoop profile is lovely!!

I wasn’t sure on these when I first saw them, but now I have one I’m pleased I did. I have heard these are generally made to be compliant, so guess I got luck to get one so big and yet still fairly light.

Just sorting my kit out for the start of outdoor nets Thursday (If the rain stays away!) Big thank you to all the contributors to this page. Ill admit before i came across this forum I was the type of guy who bought kit based on how shiny the stickers were...

From left to right..
Kookaburra verve that the Somerset county ground had on sale last season
B3 DB3 1 stripe (My first CBF purchase)
Bellingham and Smith Virat Kohl copy (Match bat for the season)
Kookaburra 1250 (My old match bat from 2/3 years ago that i scored nearly a 1000 runs in a season with) Getting a refurb hopefully will be good enough for a net bat used to go like a train and with an awesome pick up!
Stretton Fox custom inner/outter set
Chase R11s (Match gloves) Very light breathable and comfy
B3 Sausage fingers Got these in the sale before Christmas wanted to try a pair of sausage fingers
Duck and run gloves- Alternate these with the Rlls depending how sweaty each pair is and how they feel on the day.
Shrey pro- Used to have a Masuri before they had to changed to fixed grills. Found the Shrey closer to that than the new style.
Carbon Box from @Ayrtek Cricket
Asics- Advance 6s

Really pleased with all the gear i have bought post joining this forum. Hears to plenty more quality purchases..
