Very poor top order batting effort in both innings by the Indians. Apart from Sehwag, Badrinath and Sachin(one innings each) there where 9 failures from the top 6. I'm not including Saha as I see him as a number 8.
With regard to Paul Harris, he was fortunate that Morkel removed Gambhir early in each innings. Otherwise he's tactic off bowling 10 ft outside leg would've been harder to execute.
India badly missed a left hander in the middle order as well. The procession of right handers made it easier for Harris. The absence of VVS Laxman was a big loss also. He's a master of playing against the spin (just ask Shane Warne!!!)
Harbhajan Singh is no longer a match winning spinner. He's lost his drift and dip. He's only in the side because of his record.
Giles nor Harris are great spinners, but have made the best of their very limited talents. If you want to be a great left arm spinner, look no futher then Bishan Bedi - the best of them all.
Thankfully India has added some extra batting cover for the 2nd Test. Raina, a left hander, and Karthik.
I'm not making any excuses , India where mauled.
