BAS @ Eclipse All Sports
« on: January 29, 2018, 11:35:50 AM »

I have been looking at some of the BAS bats at Eclipse All Sports...Bats look decent. Does anyone know if they stock genuine BAS gear? Good thing is that most bats have a video review and the bat sent will be the same bat as the one shown in the pics.

Never bought from them so looking for some feedback on the seller.

Hanif is a nice chap and you won’t get any fake gear from him the bats might not be the same ones designed for the uk market but they will all be decent hope this helps

I did have a couple of nets with the BAS Si got from him, and it was a very responsive bat.

I had my hands on 2 BAS Players bats in the Dolphin shape last season. Both very nice and I almost purchased one off the owner. Both from Hanif and featured on his videos. I reviewed on myself. Press was not ridiculously soft.

I have read on here that the handle splice is not  cut with a jig and sometimes the handle can be off.  On a positive note it appears from yourtube video footage they make their own multi piece handles from scratch too. Founded nearly 100 years ago before partion and the vampires i have seen are rate high by the owners. I still have one eye on a Dolphin shape.

The BAS bats will be very good, but I've been told by BAS that any bat which has been approved for the UK market will have a Union Jack flag on it - which I don't think the EAS ones have on. Still will be decent bats, but it is certainly a grey area there...

Looking at the bats he has listed online, they are definitely the ones for Indian market and not the ones officially made for UK. He also has a couple of Kookaburra Ghost 300 bats on the website; which I think are part of the Indian range of bats. TBH I am not not fussed about which market (indian/uk) the bats are made for as long as they perform well and are originals. Should I as a buyer be concerned about it?

BAS are definitely one of the best when it comes to Indian bat makers in terms of quality and performance.

I would not be worried about it the bats will still be very good indeed and I sure Hanif will give you warranty if anything happened to the bat but I have had a few very good bats from Hanif if not Asad at uzi Sports has some very special bas bats  as well

Bats destined for the Indian market then imported to the UK is a grey area.
Technically legal (assuming all customs duties are paid appropriately) but the bats are usually cheaper for a reason.

It's always a case of buyer beware when it comes to grey imports. The seller can be breaking the law in selling them.

I don't know where EAS source their bats but my advice would be, if you want the warranty and security, then stick to a retailer that you know BAS supply here in the UK. The list on their website may be a good place to start.

Would you say the same if he was buying a similar bat from a forum sponsor? If EAS is providing the warranty, then there shouldn’t be an issue.

In fairness, they wouldn't be a forum sponsor if they were importing bats intended for a different market.

With regards to the OP, at the end of the day the bat will be made in the same factory so the chances are it'll be no different except for a minor British flag sticker. If you want piece of mind with an actual BAS warranty, then use an approved dealer. If not then other means of attaining a BAS bat exist, such as EAS.

Personally I'd steer clear of anyone who isn't an approved dealer, but that's just my own personal preference as I like that piece of mind!

Yes - my comments stand should it be a forum sponsor you choose to purchase from too. Be wary and sensible about who you're buying from.

This is the thing - there likely will be no problems, and likely the bat will be just as good as any of the UK bound ones. However, why take the risk? Plenty of places stock the legitimate BAS products, at decent prices, so personally I'm with @Neon Cricket on this one!

there is no "risk". his bats are legit, and actually, if anything, a tad more on the expensive side! moreover, you can ask him a million questions about the bat you're interested in. i've had nothing but great service from Hanif.
