Black Cat Joker
« on: February 02, 2018, 01:24:47 AM »

Hi guys,

I have come across rave reviews of the Joker bat on this forum to the point I am contemplating buying one. I understand they were quite popular a while ago but for some reason are not invogue anymore (given by the lack of discussion about them on this forum). Has anyone had some recent purchases? Any feedback would be appreciated. I notice they still operate. Have my eyes on the Joker Extreme 🙂

Hi mate

I've got a jester extreme - it was in theory the grade two version. It's a fair few years old and been treated to lots of glue but it goes like stink due to the mass and bat speed by the shorter blade / Harrow width. In truth I don't play anything other than 46 over cricket so we only use it in case of warm ups or if in need of quick runs. If you bat properly and play normal shots you do get true value for your shots, of course it's a smaller blade so not ideal on all surfaces. I can post some comparison pics?

Thanks mate. It would be great to see some comparison shots. In theory 1 inch shorter blade/longer handle is not massive. Will use it for T20 cricket. Assuming the width of the bat is standard.

@addu84  - have you also considered a Blank Bats B20? I believe the concept and provenence is very similar to the Joker.

I have. Both B20 and Phantom Combat make my shortlist (cannot go wrong with the baTmaKer). Its just when trawling through the old forum posts, there was exceptional praise for the bat. Does anyone know who makes them?

@LEACHY48 TK made the Black Cats for ages.
Charlie had a large willow plantation on their land and in return for TK making Charlie's bats, TK could have a large percentage of the willow I believe.
But Charlie would have to quality control and be happy with the BC bats (not usually an issue when TK is making them!)
Therefore Black Cats are generally damn decent bats!  ;)

Also let's not forget the likes of H4L Warbirds if we are showing love for longer handle, shorter blade bats! The Kudos is another.
