Bullet proof, good or bad?

Saw this and wondered if it would make a good type of wood for a bat. Or at least the rear of a Laminate.

Taking a quote out of the website

This reduced the wood to one fifth its original thickness but increased its density threefold.

Would mean that the bat would be really heavy....no?

Sounds like the process changes the internal cell structure enough for the wood to be no longer "wood"
