1 Stripe B3 Mull
« on: February 13, 2018, 12:00:00 PM »

Decided to get a B3 Bat - after some review got a SSH Mull, Weight 2lbs 10.5oz, 105mm width, Edge 40mm ish, Spine 67mm ish.

Picks up well - the only gripe is the thickness of the standard oval handle WHICH B3 HAVE SAID I CAN SEND BACK AND THEY WILL ADJUST IT TO BE THINNER! but I am not sure if I wanted it smaller yet.
Just to give you an idea its like 3 normal grips on my BB bat. -I am a bit busy knocking other bats atm to get around to sorting this out.

Looks nice that, has the Mull shape been MCC updated?

Keep the handle, it's so hard to find a proper handle these days it'd be a waste to thin it down! Strange though, both B3s I've had I asked for a thick handle and both were distinctly skinny, imo anyway. No accounting for taste I suppose!

No I wanted to try a 105 mm face to see how high the spine would go.

ill get to the handle end of next week I think. few bats to knock in.

I love a B3 handle, I think the thick handles balance them well

So a little update on the B3 after an oil, rounding of the edges, and my normal knocking in process (just ask @velvetsky01  about the H4L i knocked in), after 1.5 hours  i had a few issues.

Some cracking of the grains by the edge, the face lifted off the toe in a bizzare manner, middle pinged but slightly concerned, it pinged well so what is a few issues really cause a problem? Sent some pics to  @simon_may put a scuff on.. after some concerns from Simon i then decided against this and called B3 the next day, who were about to close due to the snow... Follow up call by Richard after some pics, and looked like a new one was going to be made as a replacement..

Further call today with a follow up call tomorrow should hopefully resolve the issue.

Pics to follow AM.

Will advise the outcome.
