There could be a common case of Screaming Cat for quite a few bat enthusiasts, but for me personally, there was a bat on EBay, it was custom made by V Sports. The profile was a true masterclass and I missed out on placing the winning bid due to being away.

Do you guys have any unfulfilled fantasy of a bat that you can't get it anymore, and you wish if you had bought it right then?

  • Clear your mind, stay still and watch the ball

There was a GM Epic in romida a few years back that was lovely, I also liked the Argon shape that year.

Oooh, I have a few.

From Ye Olden Days:

An SS Turbo Grand Prix 333.  My Dad bought me a Surridge as my first full size bat, but not that one.
A top of the range Open Championship.

More Recently:

A really huge Aussie GN long blade.
And, much as I sometimes criticised them, a GM Icon, the profile they had the very first year.

The Hick era V600, there's been the odd one on eBay but always lowe end models and in poor condition.

I had one of these in the Ultimate grade from 3D Sports. It was brilliant.

I worked a summer cleaning a bakery to get that bat, and boy it was worth it.

This one wasn’t too bad.  5 star was decent model back then.  A few dings but condition not too bad at all.

When I was a young lad and was poor... :(
... I borrowed a Kook Ridgeback from a teammate... absolutely flew... and when visiting Pakistan... still as a poor kid... saw an SS Turbo... was too young to hold it but the stickers appealed...

My father ended up buying me a MIDS bat (tape ball bat) and a hooky GM Maestro instead which was more than likely Kashmir willow...

Then MIDS disappeared as a brand for ages until recently... not keen on the bats but want to get hold of some MIDS stickers... so if anyone can get me decent MIDS stickers... holla you would make me happy...

So the Ridgeback and SS just for sentimental reasons... and hooky MIDS stickers :)

i think this falls into a few categories -

1. Retro / Sentimental - the bat you would love to get for those reasons
2. Expensive - the bat you just would love to get but costs to much

So mine....

1. Kook Gold Crown - i idolized Graham Thorpe in my early years of playing and so wanted that bat
2. L&W - a proper top grade from NZ

A SS pro issue made for Afghanistan wicket keeper Afzal Zazai that I saw on a recent trip to Mumbai. Perfect 12 grains and ping was different from anything else in the store. It felt soft pressed but the mallet wasnt leaving any dents. Pro willow is of just a diffetent quality!

I strongly considered that one, but the photos looked like they were taken with a toaster so It was hard to see what it looked like.

Yeah, this is an interesting one.

There was a time when you had  the bat available for sale, but no money in the pocket.
And then was a time when you have the money, but no bat.

Perhaps same goes with candy bars. When you were kid, you didn't have money to buy all the candies - and now when you have the money, the doctor says, you are about to get diabetes so don't even look at candies.
