"They will never play again" please....this 12 months will fly, Smith will do all the right things during this break and come back all the fresher.

The guy averages 60 and will cop the punishment he is given on the chin, he will be welcomed back..albeit sheepishly from the public.

As for David Warner..sounds like a few bridges in the aussie team are burning as we speak, it might be alot harder for him if the team wants him.

Can't wait to see what Tim Paine can create with this group, what a turn around for him in the last year! Hopefully there is a huge culture shift and the ego driven circle jerk that smith and warner have created is nothing but a bad memory.

Lehmann's face when Sutherland stated that the coaches had no knowledge of the incident

Smith should be fine - before this happened he was basically more or less liked and respected.  Warner...less so...

Banned from international and domestic cricket but encouraged to return to grade cricket + 100 hours of community service. Smith and Bancroft eligible to hold leadership roles in the future on condition, but warner not due to an apparent lack of contrition.

You have to admire Bancroft's bravery though in a way, that's the last place I would want to stuff some sandpaper.

He's their batting coach isn't he?  Or is he just there doing a bit of DIY? You know, rubbing down and sanding, that sort of thing.

Well done Cricket Australia ... appropriate action I think.

Now the ICC need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Who do you think taught them how to cheat. He’s their cheating coach.

More seriously this is grossly disproportionate to previous offences and is a result of public hysteria surrounding the event and not from actions on the field.

So many hypocrites with their holier than thou comments it’s hilarious.

Just goes to show CA take this much more serious than other countries governing bodies who all but condone the actions of ball tampering and hand out small match fee fines. If the standard punishment was a 12 month ban then that would be fine, but previously it has been a smal monetary fine (considering the size of their income)
