Hey guys, so as some of you know I am sponsored by neon for this season and as such have got all my new kit looking lovely in pink.
The kit:
Softs review:
The pads are fabulous, the monochromatic design is lovely and the quality of the materials used are clearly top drawer. First pad I've had that I would say fits me 100% perfectly being a short (No Swearing Please)! I love the quilted top hat and having used them in three net sessions so far they offer top quality protection. Highly recommend these If you are in the market for new softs.
The gloves are classy and as good as anything else on the market, flexible and comfortable straight out of the packet and again using top quality materials. Protection is brilliant, got pinned on the glove a couple of times by our opening bowler and felt no pain at all. Again highly recommended.
The bag:
Bag is great and spacious love the fact it has a valuables pocket, footwear pocket and a front access opening. Fits all my kit with ease. I do however have two slight criticisms (picky but still worth noting) the bat pockets aren't padded meaning you have to either use a sleeve or carry them separately if you are worried about dings in the bat. Also the bag doesn't always stand up as nicely as it should but that's probably to do with the way I've packed it more than anything.
The neoprene bat sleeve is a great idea offering good protection and is nice and snug around the blade, also a bonus is that it doesn't scratch the bat when taken in and out.
The bat:
Bat is really responsive and big for the weight, minimal concaving and a nice forward set handle with minimal bow. Used it a couple of times and it does go really well. One thing to note is that the bat maker is renowned for a really soft press so lots of mallet work is needed (took me more than 4 hours even with an LV mallet). The price on the bat is great value for money and the bat maker is world renowned for their skill so I would again highly recommend. There were one or two very minor issues that I highlighted to Adam to do with the finishing but that's nothing that a nice sheet of 600 grit sandpaper can't fix.
All in all I am really pleased with the kit and really appreciative to Adam for all his help and for the agreement we have together. Cannot recommend the kit highly enough, especially the softs they are by far and away the best I've used in a very long time.
