No DRS for this tournament?

Shocking decision by the umpire for that lbw, maybe just goes to show that umpires are more willing to give players out having used DRS for so long.

Apart from the Irish player who was stone dead, not given and won the game for them the other day

That was the same umpire, he’s gunned us down twice in two games.

Gutted for Scotland, but most of all gutted the West Indies didn't fail to qualify. Not that I have anything against them, just that it would have given the ICC the massive kick in the teeth they deserve!

UAE off to a solid start against Zimbabwe. Afghanistan and Ireland will be hoping UAE one a rabbit out of the hat so they can nip in essentially through the backdoor

Seems like I put the mockers on UAE. Lost three quick wickets. Zimbabwe's fan redound their voices

And now more rain. Should have had proper knock out stuff with reserve days.

The qualifying competition has shown just what a travesty it is that there are going to be so few nations in the next WC.  Some great cricket, from committed, passionate teams.

Did the ICC nobble the umpire yesterday?  They will have been desperate for the Windies to qualify.  That way the only embarassmnet is that the worlds number one rated ODI bowler will not be eligible to play...

Looks like Zimbabwe are on their way out.

Quote
Zimbabwe Cricket brought back Brendan Taylor and Kyle Jarvis, and are paying both - upfront - more than what Kane Williamson earns. Plus their contracts are 4 times the length of a standard international cricketer's contract. All of this just to qualify for the CWC.

Expect big internal trouble there then.

Not sure who I want to qualify out of Ireland or Afghanistan, still bitter that the rain costs us a shot.

Good news! There will be an associate at the world cup as long as Ireland v Afghanistan ends with a win for someone. Hopefully whoever gets there tears it up.
