I suspect Warner went too far and got the same treatment as McGrath  did by Sarawan.  If you like to dish out, you better be able to take a few yourselves

Not sure they're quite the same.

Sarwan said something which was so far beyond the line it lost him a lot of respect in a lot of circles, I've always thought McGrath's reaction to that was relatively calm. I'd have punched his lights out there and then.

De Kock was just pointing out a factual event that definitely happened...

I enjoy it when I sledged, really focuses me and you know you have made an impression on the opposition. Agreed a lot of it is just mindless swearing but you do get the odd funny one in their.

Favourite time was being told I was "kak" and that I had all the gear no idea after facing just one ball... managed to not chirp back at that point and hit a quick 40*
As I planted the spinner for a third six was told I was "kak" again so this time just said... "you're right but how bad does that make you lot for losing to us", it was a well enjoyed cold one in an empty opposition bar... we waited an over an hour and had two rounds but no sign of the home side.

Sledging when having a laugh/mental about the game  is part of the game. That includes kit/technique/shots/anything that is obvious when batting. The best sledge I ever got was someone telling me I must be good because I had reflective stickers, I don’t know why but it completely got to me.

There is an unwritten line that shouldn’t be crossed which to me is insults/personal/aggressiveness.

My old team crossed it on a couple of occasions which is disappointing and I made it clear it was unacceptable. Some of the opposition crossed it weekly @KettonJake will attest to playing Ramsey and being called an F’ing C on many occasions. Being told to F off because you’re not good f’ing enough to be here and they will f’ing kill you with the short ball... That to me is crossing the line...

Do you actually know what McGrath had said to Sarawan? It was a very offensive comment. Again, if you can't take it, don't dish out.

That's bad. Were these guys considerably bigger than you get away with this? :D

Better than me, absolutely!! Bigger than me, depends who’s making the teas!!

I managed to hit a huge six off their opening bowler and point him back to the start of his run up when he tried giving me another verbal volley ... other than that, they were pretty much  spot on  I was no way near good enough for 1 league below ECB prem.

Nah, Sarwan didn't know Jane McGrath's cancer had returned and he did absolutely nothing wrong. He was practically asking for it with the question he asked Sarwan.

But that doesn't give anyone the right to say the things they said.

Overall, I feel cricketers make a big deal out of silly little things and these whiners don't think about having a good time.

Ramsey want to get you engulfed in their relentless hurricane of noise, its easy to get swallowed up by it, and i have on many occasions. I'll give them credit they are exceptional are creating a hostile atmosphere. It is easy to do in short bursts, but they keep it up for an entire innings. I agree sometimes they go too far with personal abuse.

If you guts it out and come out the other side they are the first to say well done and share a beer in the bar. Its an approach i didn't used to like, i'd prefer someone who calls me a c**t to remain horrible on and off the field, as least i knew where i stood. I dont mind it so much now and perhaps as years have gone on things have eased somewhat, we seem to be one of the few teams that Ramsey actually like :)

Whatever people say about sledging, you need to be able to back it up with your own performance, or know who to sledge.

What is the point of sledging a 3XI number 10 and what is the point of making a fuss if you are sh*t yourself?

I'm vocal but it is mostly encouragement or piss taking amongst team mates, the only time i tend to say much to an opponent is when they've given it the big one in the first innings fielding first, particularly if they say anything directly at me when i'm batting. When they make their way out to bat it's usually something along the lines of 'here he is boys, he must have a world class cover drive to back up all that chat'

Unsurprisingly, more often that not he does not have a world class cover drive  :D

I was so surprised at smashing a spinner's (the oppo's captain) first ball for four down the ground that I muttered 'have some of that' to myself in excitement, and he overheard and gave me an almighty spray. I took some 10 more off the over (we were chasing) and then cut one too close to me, and got bowled. He LOVED that, and I got another spray.

I thought it was pretty funny though tbf- not normal for a bowler to be sledged by the batsman.
