It’s just so the hand sits naturally on the handle, I’ve found when the shoulders are dropped there’s actually a tendency to drop your hands even further down the handle,,,using that shape means the hands are in the perfect position. Just an evolution based on use.
I spend a lot of time on making sure all my handles feel good,,such a huge part of how a bat feels and ultimately plays

Good man! You are on the right track.

Have you thought about shaving the sides a certain way to better fit a gloved top and bottom hand? I wish there was a way to hold a bar of wax or clay with a gloved hand to leave the gloved-hand impression and somehow carving a bat handle based on the prints.

Look at the picture on the previous page, it shows the handle a little better.
That is perfect for the bottom hand, and the top half of the handle is always round
I’ve tried every way of doing handles and this is by far the most user friendly
Like I said, I understand how important the feel of a bat handle is

That handle looks really interesting, the concept works in theory....would like to hear from a user of your bats as to how it feels in practice.  I love when bat makers experiment away from the ordinary

Hmm, it’s a proper low middle shape on this, I’ve got two to do,, not a fan tbh, but they are copied from a customer bat.
I’ve struggled to get it to pick up how I like them,(his bats certain Taunton brand) but this picks up a lot better than his bat so he should be well chuffed
2.10 finished

@Northern monkey the 1st couple of pics didn’t show the middle as low as you have shown and agree not my favoured shape but again the quality of the bats and and the finish is superb
