Another good win, means we are clear at the top of the league, with a game in hand
We only had ten men, but played a cracking team game to hammer our oppos
Batting first , we posted 208 off 45 overs, they didn’t get near it,,,full points for us
And the ice cream van turned up too

Took 3 wickets for a few, and scored a few runs too,,,,bit knackered tho, with this plantar heel thing, which means I basically couldn’t walk, but I don’t move too much these days, batting and bowling

Lost again midweek so don’t think we can make finals day

Beat top of the league yesterday to go top ourselves just before half way in the season!
We hit 224-8 off our 45 then bowled them out for 154
Personally not many runs (just 4) can’t argue with my dismissal he second stunning caught and bowled if the year! Really need to stop hitting the ball at waist height! Although I’m hitting the ball nicely and feel comfortable at the crease!

No game today the oppo cried off to watch the football!

Oppo were 134 for 1 with 20 left(5dropepd catches) and we got them 215 all out.

I then set off like a train. Me and opening partner out on 100 for first wicket. He fell for 17.....

I followed 2 overs later. Made 90 from 46 balls. 11 fours and 4 sixes. Got out by missing a slow full toss of the spinner. Gutted.
A Saturday ton is still not mine!!

We collapsed to 114 for 4, and struggled for abit.
But eventually knocked them off 8 down with 4 overs left.

Still top of league, and I’m now division ones top runscorer. Decent sat.

Awful day yesterday. Not seen a worse fielding display from us in a long time.

Bowled 1st and had them 1 down in the 2nd over thanks to a leg side stumping from myself which I was very pleased with.

That brought in their only good batter (but he is very very good) we then proceeded to drop him on 0, 2, 20 & about 70ish!! When they clapped his 100 the oppo had 128-2 on the board!!! He finished with 113 and we pulled it back after that and bowled them out for 218.

Me and my opening partner got off to a flyer and were 49 off 6 overs when I got out for 18. I clipped it off my toes behind square started to run and was caught, it was ridiculous as the ball before the fielder was infront of square and the captain didn't move the field. The bloke just decided to move himself. They even joked about it as I walked off!

We crumbled after that and were all out for 148.

Not a good day and with other results has seen us drop to mid-table.

Very happy with yesterday's innings. Opened the batting and carried my bat through 40 overs for my first ever ton, 114 not out, with us on 141 when I hit 100, we only managed 175 by the end and they eventually knocked em off for 6 with 2 overs to spare, butwas a good game and I'm chuffed with my contribution.

Oh and took one on the two which looks like keeping me out next sat!

Playing for my old side again as my usual side didn’thave a game. We hit 205/6 I came in no. 8 again to avoid claims of ‘ringer’ and bashed a quick fire 29* in the last 4 overs to gain maximum batting points.
They hit 150/7. Took 5-1-18-2 so happy with that.
Got another game today on a massive pitch against a good side and we only have 9. Not looking forward to it.

Mixed day in only my second Saturday of captaincy ever

I put myself in 5 to give others a bat normally batting 3 and ended up in at around 20 overs gone for about 70 runs very short of confidence after lasting about 20 balls in the last 3 innings I’ve batted but thought I’d dig in for a captain knock

26 overs later I’m walking off with my first league ton after bashing 123 not out including 10 of the biggest 6’s I’ve ever hit

Posted 244 and they chased it down with ease in the 35th for 3 wickets.... not really a lot I could do as I was given a team with 2 bowlers both of which were under 18 so only allowed a couple of 6 over spells

What a game yesterday, any result was possible off the last ball!

We lost the toss and were asked to field. This isn't surprising as the average score batting first at the ground is 260 this year. The wicket looked like a road and the outfield was rapid. Being on the edge of the square one of the boundaries was only about 45 yards square.

Our opening bowlers both struck early but things were looking ominous at 110-2 off 24. The bowlers all stuck at it and we restricted them to 218-9 off their 45.

I took some tap early on (33 of my first 4 overs!) so was chuffed to finish with 4-53 from my 9. It was expensive but I believe I'm now the leading wicket taker for my side this season.

In reply we started well with both openers settling in. The first wicket went down on 133 with the chase looking well in hand. That soon became 180-4 with the run rate now up to 8s.

The game ebbed and flowed with regular wickets, leaving 7 to win off the last over with our captain (who opened) invested in a ton.

2 off the first ball, 5 off 5.
A single, 4 off 4, no.8 on strike.
2 more, 2 off 3.
Run out at the non strikers end, 2 off 2, opener on strike.
Opener snicks off for 117, 2 off 1.

In comes out number 9, no box and had to put his shoes on as he walked out due to the flurry of wickets. A clip off his hip and a sprinted single, a fumble and they came back for 2. A near run out that would have been a tie but we scraped it!

That's the second tight finish we've had this season and we've won both. What a feeling, the game felt won, then lost, then as if we were the underdogs.

Games like that are why I love cricket!

Haven’t updated lately-
Joined a new club this season, came in as second spinner. Unluckily for me our seam attack has been trimming up teams in the league, 56 wickets between our 3 seamers! But I’ve bowled well when I’ve been asked to and picked up couple of wickets so I can’t Complain. My fielding has improved as well, something I worked hard on once we got outdoors!
We’ve only had one team score over 200 against us so far this season. And only lost ourselves the one game on opening day of season
We find ourselves on top of the league at the half way point of the season, so we’ve had a great start.
Our 2’s find themselves in a great position as well, so the club is in a proper cheerful place and everyone seems to be enjoying cricket and playing for each other which is ultimately what you want

Fun game today. Their skipper asked ours if we would agree to a short game so they could watch England. We said no thanks, we're up for a full game. Their guy called wrong at the toss, his face was a picture when we chose to bat in 25 degrees, flat hard track, lightening outfield and a short boundary. 40 overs later we've racked up 245 for 4, my contribution a decent 32 from an opening partnership of 60. We did keep them updated with the England goals!

They were knackered, and it showed. Their top 4 failed badly and they faded away to 80 all out, something like that. Into the bar early with a nice 20 points in the pocket.

Good game today both for the team and personally. We lost the toss and fielded first. The deck was an absolute road and did nothing for the seamers all innings. The outfield was lightening quick and this aided them to a very good total of 291 from their 40 overs. After tea we weren't feeling great given our torrid fielding display and poor bowling. I was down to bat 4 and was in during the first over after just 4 balls. We were 0-2 and 291 looked miles off. But me and the number 2 batted well and eventually he fell for 111 in a stand of 207, we chased the total after 37 overs with me finishing 150 not out. 3 centuries and 2 50s in the game showed just how good a track it was.

That gives me 4 50s this season and 1 big hundred. Feeling in great touch and loving my cricket this season.
