Got my Ansty debut confirmed for Saturday. Strange being asked to be at a ground an hour and a half before a game, never had that at Chalfont! Potentially off to watch the Uni lads if we don't make the second round at 3pm, and also potentially playing a friendly on Sunday for Firle.

Got off to a great start to the season this weekend was bowling alright keeping it tight at one end, then split webbing between ring and little finger.... gone straight through from front to knuckle and some heavy bruising to boot.

first game was on saturday. -we bowled well but fielded poorly, bowled opp out for 167 a.o. - this was a div 3 game. opposition 1st team didn't have a game so they decided to field 2 batsman who scored 1,100 runs between them in division 1 last year. one of them got 50 odd. we lost by 20 odd runs.

Excellent, good to see the Suss going strong. I was there from 2005-2008. Good to see the girls team still going well too, it was us who set them up.

To say the girls team is going strongly is exaggerating. We have two girls who play senior county, and they run cricket sessions for beginners and other girls who play. Beth and Anna are the only two who train with the guys though, have been a couple of joint socials too.

Both out 1st and 2nds managed games last weekend, the 1sts won by 2 runs and the 2nds lost by 4 so both we well close games! Hopefully with the decent weather up in Yorkshire we might be onto something now and we can stick to schedule.

I have my first match this Sunday in a friendly then hopefully i'll be playing regularly! Looking forward to dusting off the whites again!

A winning start to our LMS season, where we come in as defending champions. Bowled the opposition out for 93 from 18 and then managed to knock them off for 3 wickets in 13.2 overs.

A winning start to the season, full bonus points and if anyone tells you cricket isn't exercise, well an hour of fielding in LMS and Fitbit begs to differ...

First game for XL.club. They hit 250/1 with 2 lads retiring with tons. I caught a sitter and dropped a sitter (off of davehugh�s bowling), sorry mate. We snuck home for a draw at 150/7. I was bowled for a leaden-footed 2. Davehugh looked classy for a 70odd.

Games off tomorrow. Hoping for a training session instead as im raring for a bit of cricket!
Found an interesting position during my job hunt yesterday that I've applied for: England Performance Pathway Coach, specifically with the England Women's pathway with a specialism in spin bowling but able to coach across the board. Im probably nowhere near getting on the shortlist but worth a try!

First game of the season tomorrow... forecast isn't good, we're on the 2nd XI pitch which isn't covered and can be a bit spicy, and the oppo seem to be bringing a tidy bowling attack... not looking like the gentle preseason hit I was hoping for then!

Tomorrow's fixture was called off just after 3pm today.

I'm our friendly captain this season, so will be taking charge of my first game of the season this Sunday (weather permitting).
