Saturday league season finished.

551 runs @ 50.09

15 wickets @ 18.67

I wanted 500 runs and 20 wickets, having to wicket keep for 3 games and missing 2 due to family events didn't help. Maybe next year...

Do people still have proper games this season?

My first game of indoor cricket for the 2018/19 "winter" season is on Monday!

Yes although I hope we play better than we did this afternoon.

Today started well enough as we posted 178 on a poor wicket and that should have been good enough but we were absolutely terrible in the field. Must have given away nearly 30 in misfields (I was guilty too) and dropped 2 absolute dollies. Also didn't help that I was given some naff information about the strength of the opposition batting so I had already bowled by the time their big hitter came into bat. Anyhow this guy whacked around 70 not out and the visitors won with just over 1 over spare although they crossed the line thanks to 4 overthrows which really summed up our fielding performance.

The good news is that forecast for next Saturday is fine so we are going to organise another friendly. May play next Sunday too.

Last game of the season against the Presidents XI - amazed we got it on with all the weather about.
Very gentle friendly. But nice little red inkers for myself @jamesisapayne
He’d never say it himself but he’s been superb with bat and ball this season #mvp

Thank f*** that's over with. Probably my worst ever season playing. Certainly 2nd half of the season could not have gone worse. Could easily pack it in now

Best described as 'Yardy darts' - no room, nagging length you cant quite drive & on you quicker than you think

Thanks a lot for the kind words mate - nice to have a trot out with you yesterday :)

I think the key to this season has been that GM Neon I got off you - just feel so comfortable using it. Might have to invest in another one over the winter as it's heir apparent ;)

With the season now over following  promotion in 2017 the club finished 5th.
Thier were 3 winnable games against the teams  that finished in the bottom 3 which were lost to the weather without a ball being bowled plus 2 more abandoned when we were closing in on a win at home we beat the teams that finished first and second and  with 8 players lost by 27 runs to the team that finished third.
Could the club have achieved more than 7 wins from the 14 played  only if we could have put 11 on the pitch each match as games were lost when fielding ( played one game away against the league winners with just 7 players ).
Also for most of the season the club played 3 12year olds who dispite finding senior cricket hard did well with both bat and ball taking around 30 wickets between them hope they come back next season.
On a personal note had 11 innings 4 good knocks and four failures no excuses but at times facing the new ball on our uncovered wicket  was a nightmare.
Roll on season 2019.
