New bat regs

I just got sent a thing from our Sunday League committee, with a link to an MCC document 'Summary of changes to the Laws of Cricket 2017 Code'. So, it details the changes to the Laws, from Oct 2017. Law 5 (The Bat) has been amended, as we knew it would be, but there is nothing mentioned about lower league cricket, or how the law now applies to existing 'old' bats. So, can someone tell me clearly, does this change apply to us all now?

LAW 5 – The bat & Appendix B (previously Law 6 & Appendix E)
It has been decided to limit the size of the edge of the bat and also its overall depth.  Law 5 defines the permitted size of the bat, with the width and length unchanged, but with added restrictions on the thickness of the edges (40mm) and the overall depth (67mm).  Appendix B defines the size and shape of the bat gauge, which umpires can use to check a bat’s legality.  This gauge is fractionally larger than the permitted size of the bat, to allow for permitted covering, such as an anti-scuff front.  The gauge allows for the traditional slightly curved face of a bat resulting from the pressing process.

Every league will be different but it’ll be phased in year on year. I assume some bat makers will still make illegal bats but obviously the player is eventually risking not being able to play with it. I know the umpires in wepl have or are all being given bat gauges and I know the county div 1/2 will have them in 2019

We've been told that apprently in the NEPL prem and div 1 umpires are  getting gauges but nothing has been said if they wil or will not check the bat dimensions just yet

Right, update sorry, I just got hold of the ECB video. 2019 for Minor Counties and Prem 1/2. 2020 for all recreational cricket. Thanks for commenting though.

. No chance will continue to make big bats for as long as legally possible Proffesional and Minor County Cricketers make up 1%of my sales . The non Proffesional or recreational Cricketers are 99% of my loyal customers so up until I can't make them big bats I will continue to.  If that's being unprofessional  I guess I will have to live with it

Reputable? Our leagues got two years yet, before they’ll even question bat size, most leagues are probably not gonna question a bats size .
Where does the reputable come into it??

Was just watching Notts v Lancs online. Libby got out and Mullaney left his bat leaning against the stumps as he went for a drink. Both umpires then went over, picked up his bat and started measured the size his bat.

So say they did that to a guy on 100* and found his Bat was too big?
