I thought the point of sponsors was to make it cheaper for the players, not to add cost to their clothing. I suppose it depends on the amount the sponsor gives the club but it still seems a bit wrong to me.

Don’t be stupid, most clubs just take the money into the club as funds.

We have a club shop with All Rounder.  The LS playing shirts are 35 and the SS shirts are 30.  Given that All Rounder currently sell plain versions of these shirts for 24 and 22, I think that their club shop platform is a total rip off.

They could certainly be cheaper, my club uses them as well. Obviously there are costs for embroidery and printing.

I was my uni ultimate club merchandiser this year. For unprinted shirts we had costs of about $18.50 per shirt, and then for each screen $3, so with club logo on the front and squad number on the back, the costs were $24.50 from memory.

The previous year we used a company called JS Sports who print up club shirts (club badge and sponsors logo) for the same price as they sell blank shirts.  Personally I think that the mark up All Rounder charge to print them is ridiculous

I have just had to shell out £26 for my son's shirt, he is 8. I am grumpy!

I agree, it does nothing to encourage less affluent families to participate. I find the bigger the club th more sponsors, that leads to higher prices.
At least the first XI have (no match fees, paid overseas, access to free indoor facilities) delete as applicable.
Support you local team, pay a tenner for your shirt.

I am just going to add I have paid £120 for his membership plus £10 for the cap and £26 for the shirt.

The shirts have sponsors logos all over them too.  Grr.

That is ridiculous for a junior!

We pay £25 subs, a shirt is around £25 and we pay less than a fiver a week match fees

Especially when you consider there are 60 juniors in each individual age group from u5 - u13 so near on 400 kids.
(That is serious fund raising. 400x120= £48,000 and they are all buying shirts, caps and hoodies too)

This really annoys me. Most other sports have a bag of team shirts, a club that was genuinely interested in nurturing local talent would use this system. It works well in football and many kids from a wide range of backgrounds can afford to participate. As it stands we will only be able to pick from the middle classes as these are the kids who can afford to play, and this significantNtly reduces the chances of finding the next great player. Get to the AGM and vocalise your thoughts. Our sport will die unless the youth take it up

It’s almost like it’s used to fund paying seniors.....

I've just spend £37.99 (including postage) on a long sleeve playing shirt, I feel robbed...

They wanted an extra £3 to put initials on it, really not convinced Serious Cricket offer good value for money

I'll raise that to £42.50 for a long sleeve shirt and postage

I did have initials on mine but they were only 1.20 extra
