Looks like only the Players edition will have the exact shape that stokes uses as the signature models fail to mention it.

I bet it's just a tweaked Zelos shape with different stickers and engraving.

Overall, this decision by GM to make this range feels really weird and unlike them. I know they do player editions in the past but to extend the branding into lower grades of willow is peculiar. I wonder if there are just a limited run and in future only the Player model will remain like the De Kock, Taylor, Head etc ones.

Also makes me wonder if Stokes's agent was also responsible for this to happen, i.e. Stokes will only sign of he gets his own range (builds Stokes up to be a bigger, better player compared to the rest of GM's roster, also improves Stokes image on world stage).

Some interesting stuff

Text from my GM rep says the sig and sig LE bats are the standard Zelos shape. Players Edition is what he uses

Pretty sure if i asked them for one in 2.14/15 they would make it, no problem.

This may sound strange. But I don’t want them to bang any old cleft in their machine that will give a Ben stokes shape in that weight and charge me extra for it.

I want one that was made from a cleft they’ve already deemed a players, it just came out to heavy at the end.

I’ve requested bats in heavy weights to many times and ended up with a heavy cleft that makes a small bat with no ping unfortunately.

Very cool! Is that the "standard" Zelos Player Edition?

Regarding the handle, can you order a thinner handle?

Simply stunning just got a standard Zelos for bday and like my other GM bats it’s superb straight out the packaging.

If my numbers come in on my free lucky dip lotto I’ll be hitting you up for one of these players bats Rob

Hi @Six Sixes Cricket  - was there any concern around the thinness of the toe? Obviously GM press their bats well.. but still, is that toe almost certain to be brittle?

GM Now, Toe Tek, Should be good to go. Extra Knocking in the toe area will help. Feedback from the lad who bought this bat has been v. good. "Bat sounds awful if hit too low, but the middle is huge. 79 off 44 balls including 2 of the biggest 6's ive ever had"
