Cam's net footage
« on: April 15, 2018, 09:56:43 PM »

Evening y'all

The 2018 season must be getting close as our nets went up today! As such I had my first hit of the season, and actually remembered my camera for once.

Looking at my YouTube it's been 364 days since I last filmed a net session. I'll make a conscious effort to get footage of a few more in 2018.

Anyway, enough waffle, here is the footage from today

https://youtu.be/7teAWsFs3Po

As always feedback much appreciated (as long as it's not "give up" anyway)

Cheers
Cam

That's a deft little dab you have down to third man there in your shot armoury!

Cheers mate.
Hopefully it comes in handy to turn the strike over this season.

Not sure if you wanted to defend mostly, but you could drive some of those fuller balls where you are defending instead..

It was my first hit with a new stick, so I wasn't looking to play any shots really.
You've got to break them in gently, after all  :D

Today's game was rained off, so a few of us went for a net this afternoon.

Here is the video footage of my bat. It was pretty horrendous to be honest with you, so hopefully people have something to say on this one.

As always, any feedback or tips appreciated. Enjoy the footage of me being cleaned up  :)

I do love the dab you play.

You always seem to have loads of time to hit the ball where you want, and you tend to hit balls in a different place to where I’d hit them, but it works for you.

Mainly try to hit the ball on the floor more and you’ll be fine  ;)

Another day, another game rained off and another net.

Again not fantastic, I nicked off and got bowled playing a horrible heave!

As always, feedback and advice welcome  :)

Just a simple one - why does your trigger vary so much, is that a deliberate thing to different bowlers or anything like that? The position you end up in at the moment of delivery can be hugely different from ball to ball, unlikely to help with your consistency?

this probably won't be news, but if you look at your body and head position for the shots you play well, you'll notice that you're always playing under your eyes with a strong base. the shots you don't connect with so well are usually where you've played away from your body.

Not advice as such but you look a lot better when you play aggressively.

Whey you are blocking/defensive it feels like your hands are stuck to your waist and everything is a little jittery. When you play more aggressively your hands open up and you look much smoother.
