England Kit 2018-19
« on: May 07, 2018, 07:51:27 AM »

I haven’t seen anything on here but apologises if it has already been mentioned. I happened to pop into the New Balance store down Oxford St yesterday and these shirts were out. One labelled ODI polo and the other T20 polo. I assume these are the new shirts for 2018-19

Oh now I think I actually like these, especially the grey one as its something different.

The T20 one is miles better, they must have realised that god awful hoop shirt was shocking

Did you notice any new Training gear @mdg20 ?

Really like them both! That’s gone massively under the radar if they have been released!

I think some store assistant has made a boo boo and put these out way too early, I'd imagine they'd have a press event or release closer to the start of the Eng v Pak game.

Oh good, a new season so a new kit.

Getting a bit silly how often they're changed now

FWIW, they're doing a promotional thing in Peckham tonight involving a game street cricket where I suspect they'll be flogging the kit. Root, YJB and Wood amongst others will be there. Would be rude not to pop down, right?

I have never liked anything that has come out of New Balance but they will do well to produce anything worse than the cream whites with bright white sweaters that they made the test side wear last year

I’ve just read that they’re going to wear the red t20 shirt against Scotland in the ODI to conform with ICC regs. Has there been a change of regs preventing teams wearing similar colours or is the most likely option they want to wear it to try and push sales, a bit like when football teams wear away shirts at home!

You have to wonder if the players prefer the red/orange shirts.
I mean shirt clash is hardly an issue in cricket. You have a batting team who I guess are relatively identifiable because the are holding a lump of wood and a bowling team who are not...!

I heard a savage rumour some of our boys were sporting cream NB jumpers during the 2nd test....any truth to this?

No, cream whites and white jumpers. A ghastly combination.
England's jumper game has been terrible for years, especially when compared to Pakistan, Ireland or just about anyone else.

My favourite non woolie jumper was the indian gillet style from a few years back...

The Irish ones are brilliant, nothing wrong with a plain white cable knit I reckon - so long as they're the same colour as the shirts and trousers.

Some of them were, but it just made the white ones look even more ridiculous.
