Batting shoes
« on: May 09, 2018, 10:21:51 AM »

Ive always used full spikes when batting, but would i feel more comfortable half spikes or even rubbers?

What are your preferences?

Always half spike to bat in. Feel like my feet are stuck in the ground if I use full spikes

Agree with @19reading87 - I bat in half spikes, especially as I tend to swivel on my heel when playing the pull shot - however as I like to run hard between the wickets I feel that the spikes help vs rubbers, especially in the UK where the ground can be wet/dewy.

Half spikes all the way. Got asics strikerate which are great except when you need to find spare spikes.

Not a truer word spoken !! Had to get rid of mine as I couldn't find any replacement spikes !

Always batted and kept in half spikes

That's what I'm in this year... is it an impossibility to get spare spikes?  :( :o

I keep a look out for secondhand ones going cheap just for the spikes. No luck yet. There was a pair going on gumtree I told the guy who was will to pay full price (About a fiver) plus postage if he would post only the spikes. He wouldn’t.

Googling those boots, they have special spikes.

I take it Asics don't provide spares?

These ones? Look exactly like running spikes to me, doubly likely as no way are Asics getting special spikes manufactured for one pair of cricket boots. Ceramic would be a good upgrade too, I used these on a pair of normal Asics last season and they were excellent:

Always bat in full spikes.
When you stop to turn you want the grip in your heal.

Just choose some good quality light ones or get some trainers spiked.

Half spikes are my preference as full spikes once cost me my wicket heel became stuck in the ground  and couldn't slide my foot back over the line and was stumped.

Have to agree with you about the boosts, pretty much slipped
With every time I ran in my ones when batting. I have just sent mine to the shoe doctor to be fully spiked
