With the grille on .....this is my new favourite looking helmet on the market ! (Although I'll never buy one , since I'll be an ayrtek rad style user until you stop making them ).

Thanks both for the kind words, always a nervous period when you unwrap the component part to see how it’s come out from a new tool.

That looks extremely smart. If you were to ever offer a cloth covered version I would buy it without hesitation.

698g so slightly heavier (60-80g) than the Rad Raw model but there is obviously some variation in design between the 2 shells.

Slightly off topic but has it ever been demonstrated that the 'mounting plate' (masuri, shrey etc.) provides any further rigidity over using a grille fixed into one position with screws.

Horses for courses and different designers going about attaching the grille in different methods.

My take (as well as GM’s) is that in the event the grille needs removing from the helmet shell to access the players airways without moving their head is to have nut caps that are able to be unscrewed and the grille taken off. Other helmets would require the location and use of wire cutters to remove the grille.

...any update on delivery dates Tom?

You're a busy chap, and as it's end of season now, there's no urgent rush - but it's all gone a bit quiet.

Hi Matt, yes sorry been a manic few days since they all arrived and I’m in the process of working out the rear holes and grille hole locations to provide the correct gap between peak and grille and ensure the liner sits correctly once fitted.

Obviously as it’s the first batch this has taken some time to establish as I don’t want to get it wrong and end up with a wasted shell as they have all sold!

I’ve also had to order longer bolts for the chin straps as the shell is a different thickness to the Rad shell with the underpeak section when fitted. These should arrive on Thurs/Fri so I can fit the chin straps and get them out the door.

Sorry for radio silence, trying to juggle a 3 year olds birthday tomorrow and the family duties with working life!

Must say as a traditionalist i was never a big fan of the original shape but these ones look very good - i've only started wearing a helmet in the last few years as i get older but if i was buying one today these would definately be on the list - but in cloth only! the traditionalist in me demands that!!

Thanks, useful feedback. The cloth covering sample is underway currently to pin down the template for the cloth shape in order to cover them. Hopefully it’s potential customers like you that I can cater for with this model thereby opening up a larger % of the market with this model.
