timing
« on: June 03, 2018, 08:13:03 PM »

Any tips for this issue.

Time the ball brilliantly down the ground, through the on side and on the backfootbut whenever i go for a cover drive or any defensive push i hit the ball on or on the bottom of the stickers meaning any chance of a defensive push for 1/2 is off the cards. Any idea what could be the cause? I was thinking high elbow mainly and trying to push it a bit higher, anyone had this issue and found out what it was ?

Thanks in advance

Thanks mate will give it a go, i think i find it pretty consistent across all pace i play against so do you think it could be something within my technique that means im consistently late on that one shot? I've watched it back from indoor nets but assumed it was just because the nets we were at were more bouncy than any wicket in the world but obviously not as its translating into the middle.

I had/have an issue like this, essentially I wasn't/am not leading with my head and shoulder properly, just throwing my hands at the ball.  If you get your shoulder leading and the weight transfer right, play the ball as near yourself as possible you can't go too far wrong.  Far easier said than done mind, you can't be thinking about stuff like that in the middle, needs to be put right in nets to let you concentrate purely on watching the ball.

This sounds very accurate to be honest, one of the biggest things im working on is getting my head more into the ball and pushing my weight forward. Not quite Jennings 2016 like but a similar issue.

if I want to play through cover I find I have to move my back foot around towards leg in order to get my body angle right. otherwise I'm just pushing at it with my hands as mentioned above.

Jjeiricksmith slight change in technique will work
My tip would be let the ball come to you then lead with your head get it over the ball heads are heavy everything else will follow.
