strange request
« on: June 07, 2018, 01:09:12 PM »

Hi
Does anyone on here own an old newbery bat ( circa 2000-2006 ish ) that they would be willing to lend out - I would pay for it plus postage and return it.  Good example would be a mjolnir with a pronounced oval handle.  I'm just after a similar handle shape from a new bat I'm gonna get made.  Many thanks in advance ( fingers crossed ).

I am pretty sure I have an old Mjolnir from that sort of period at home. I will have a look when I get back and send you a message.

Did they stop making handles that shape?

I kind of remember liking mine.

That handle shape was possibly the best shape ever produced and now no matter what unless you have that specific bat the  shape it's so hard to replicate

Ahhhh. I had the best Series One, the best. I had for half a season in about 1993 I think. Then my brother took it and I Never. Saw. It. Again. I still have my brother but we only speak when he starts by saying sorry.

I bought it in 2003 brand new from my then girlfriends dad when I was a Uni. My first “proper bat” was a Newbery lightweight if you ignore the Slazenger v100 size 5 I had as my very first junior bat.
