Original dynadrive or 80's powerspot.

Bought the re-issued dynadrive but it just wasnt the same.

If only I'd known. I've practically just given away a nice old style Masuri with a titanium grille to a teammate.

I may be opening a can of worms here but wasn't there a rumour that the SCATs were Indian made and only the final pressing/shaping was done by JM? 

Plus isn't there a forum member selling SCAT profile bats on ebay? If you want to use it you might be better off getting one of those.

I can only dream about them now. Hoarding bats is a good strategy. I am glad I grabbed whatever I could when prices were reasonable.

This is an interesting thread.
The reality is that kit now is worlds better than kit even as little as 8 years ago.

I am not sure I would swap any item of my kit now from kit in the past.

Even my lid.

Although I have fond memories of my old cloth cricket cap, modern ones just aren't as good...

I'm like you Buzz, as much as we lust over old gear in reality how likely are we to actually use it when there is so much new and exciting stuff around.

I agree and its more than likely nostalgia playing a part.

When i think about old kit it takes me back to when i was a kid watching my dad play and miss those times as i didnt have a care in the world.......

..Arcass Gloves ,pure quality back in the day or the DF sausage with the green bottom hand overflap

Loved the first Reebok shoes with the green trim on the heel and also would love another Open Championship blade..bought mine from Alf Gover`s cricket school on wandsworth hill,a gun

I agree. Bats have come a long way and even MCC compliant bats are superb!

Regarding helmets, I do feel that the adjustable Masuri was a superior design than non-adjustable ones; and, lighter too.
