I wonder what makes player sign up with Spartan? They have had issues with paying their sponsored players in the past.

Steve Smith batting for Toronto with all his nb kit (last seasons black/yellow colourway). Wonder what's going on with this ?

The Steve Smith NB situation is strange. Stokes gets dropped immediately by NB for reasons that they said didn't reflect the brand's values, etc.

Smith is found guilty and admits to ball tampering and he's still using their gear. Warner gets dropped by Gray Nics. Very mixed messages and, it seems, standards from NB...

I think you can put Warner in the same boat as stokes, both with bad records who, realistically, don't offer all the much in terms of positive association with a brand. Smith on the other hand, had a pretty spotless record and held ( and will most likely hold again) the most important sporting post in Australia, his value as an ambassador is far higher than that of stokes and warner, also, depending on what you read, Smiths role in the whole debacle may have been limited to just being captain of two morons.

Either way, Warner looks to already have his own Range with Spartan so who knows how long it has been in the pipeline. I'm just glad that we won't be seeing anymore horrible Kaboom ranges.

you're kidding? Smith letting Warner use sandpaper is as bad on a brands image as a drunken moron hitting someone who wasnt hitting back.

^ I'm guessing, since you and I are in full agreement, you are commenting on the opposing view in the previous post and not mine, as per your quote?  :)

I guess there is nothing that NB could do if Smith simply rocks up with last season's kit until he lands a new sponsor.  I can't see that they could require him to rip their stickers of his bat and cover up the logos on his softs

Yeah , youre right ....and i thought about that . But it seemed odd , usually players make it obvious that 'this space is for sale'.

If you look on ebay @Aussiecollector you will find a Spartan sticker for every mood. Hahahahaha

Perhaps that’s the ones Warner has on the Kaboom he’s still using  ;)
