Hi guys

I purchased a GM chrome LE a month or so back, as this was the top grade thought it would an absolute belter. I knocked it for a for a good week before I even let it touch a ball. Anyways first net session it didn�t seem to do much. So thought probably needs some more knocking in. However when the bat touches a ball it just doesn�t sound knocked in. I�m just wondering is it the pressing or just got a bad bat. I will upload some pictures later once I�ve found out how to do it. Any advice would be kindly appreciated.

I have a 909 I will say it is still not that great for big hitting after lots of nets . I do think it will open up at some point fully . But I think it will take a while but I feel it's a bat that will last . Will be interesting how you fare ...

Keep knocking. try to get hold of a heavy mallet and keep knocking

Do you know if it�s a common problem with the chrome, I�ve seen a few people mention similar problems

One of the shops I buy bats mentioned that the chrome�s didn�t sell that much as a few people had said there too hard pressed

Do seem harder however do believe it's a good bat and great for nets and over time may take a long time will perform well ....

I've had a few GMs that took a while to open up. A Luna was the worst, used as a net bat every week for a year before it really started to come good. Once they're there though they're great and make a beautiful sound out of the middle.

I had a 404 chrome that pinged virtually straight out of the packet, either I got very lucky or you've been unlucky with yours

Traditionally GM's have always taken a bit longer to get going, although I believe they have got a lot better over the last few seasons.

I would think the resident CBF GM expert is @SOULMAN1012

I used a GM Chri e last season and it�s uo there as one of the best bats Iv used, I netted all through the winter with it prior to last season.

This season Iv used a Neon and Zelos with same again winter nets abs match use all year.

However they have all performed from pretty much the off so personally I do t think the �GM bats are hard pressed� come t is valid anymore, I still have 2 brand new GM�s that Iv only tapped balls up with and again they are good for brand new bats. Check the handle make sure no cracks but I also do loosen the handles on my GM bats by slightly standing on them when handle is rested on slight elevation and I do find this makes a massive difference in getting some flex in the handles of my GM bats

I�ll check the handle because it sounds hollow when it�s hit with a mallet. Also standing on the handle doesn�t this damage the bat?

Thanks for the advice though will come in handy having 4 GM �s
