New Bat Wrong Handle Help
« on: August 07, 2018, 02:56:47 PM »

Hi All,

Just need some opinion, I have paid a custom bat company that I won't name at the current time because I want to see what the opinion is here, to make me a Super Short Blade bat with a long handle. They have put a short handle in so the bat is too short. I rung them up and and they have told me to send the bat back at my own expences and they will and I quote 'pop a new handle in'. Do you guys think this is an acceptable solution considering it is their error? I'm not sure what effect taking a brand new handle off a bat and putting a new one in will have on the bat?

Cheers

That was my thoughts re the postage, I'm not fussed about paying for it just the principle I would have thought they'd offer. I'm mostly bothered if it will effect the bat negatively.

understand why
You might not be fussed re the cost of return postage but it would have been a nice gesture of goodwill if the the company had offered to refund it

When your buying stuff online customer service is a big part of it, Me personally would get the refund for the postage back just out of prinicipal

Hopefully you sort it all out mate

This time you should ask for some Pics comparing the your bats with Standard SH bat to give to some sort of idea about the profile

And as I understand you have noticed the issue with the bat size quite early and you have not played with it at all, so there is no point of talking about the change in performance.

If you have proof (email/order) that details exactly what you’ve asked for and they’ve not delivered then I’d expect either a complete refund or the problem fixed completely at no cost to you.

Why not name the custom company?
If they know that people are discussing this issue they are more likely to stop it happening again but also addressing the post at your cost problem.

If there name rhymes with 'performance free', then their bat blade size knowledge is extremely poor. I have two bats with their name on it that were set to wrong lengths!

Nothing to worry about replacing handles on a new bat - my current match bat arrived to me as a part made cleft with a wonky handle. Got the handle replaced and shaped it up, used it for the second time on Saturday and it took me 61 balls to get to 100 - safe to say it performs ok with a new handle! I'd be asking for the postage back though for sure.
