Great bat Sitonit.

Not good if the weight is not what you were after

Btw my bat has finally arrived in Australia, let’s see when I receive it

Yeah this looks to be good one; however, I am not sure if I have a frequent use for it or should I leave it packed and sell it as Brand New?

What were your specs?
I hope you get at least close to what you wanted if not exact. I think with these prices and this quality, we can’t complain much - it’s not a bad deal after all.

Today I got a quote from Pak origin Australian bat “Smasher” (as used by Asad Shafiq), they asked AUD$895 plus shipping -  IMO, that’s.  ********* Ridiculous !! ******** for a cricket bat.

Ordered two bats one 2.7 and one 2.8 when they had their sale.  Turned up really quickly downside both bats weigh in excess of 2.10 so not exactly what was order.  I have emailed Waqas and his response was rather poor.  The bats are huge in terms of size, however I was after the weight and didn't really care how big it was.

My request was fairly basic... 2.6 in size SH... I ordered their top of the range AS Champ bat. For A$150 delivered here in Brisbane from Sialkot... I am not sure how it can be the top bat.

At this price I will be happy with 2.8 or lighter

They need to understand the importance of good customer service and the value of repeat business.

This happened to me last year. I ordered two bats both 2.8 but when they turned up, both were 2.13-2.14. I couldn’t even pick them so sold them for losses. I might go for MB bat that @ibrartariq got.

I placed an order over the phone in India. I asked for lightest bat and guy sent me photos of part finished saying thats lightest he got. My parents brought bat to Uk so saved me shipping charges too.
Bat in weight is not lightest but the feel is. Its amazingly big for its feels and plays well too. I recently put video under title "Net Video" so check it out to see how it performs.

I'm not surprised, you really need a good relationship or have someone pick them up for you.

@Sitonit why didn't your friend just stick with the bat that was made for you? Maybe its just me, but am surprised they would give a cleft like that to sponsored players. Not trying to be negative just my observations... I'm expecting a bat from AM in the next few days that was for an international player and having seen pics of it, the bat is very grainy and straight grains on face. See if I can post pic. Will get back to you what weight it is when I get it but I've been told 2lb 7oz.. remains to be seen.

PS Image I have so far:

Also was no where near as good deal as the AS prices. I paid 300 inc gloves and shipping.

Sending an email to Waqas to see if they still have my original bat, and if yes, they need to put it on a scale, take a photo and if 2.6 or 2.7, then mail it to me.

You seem to be unhappy with the company but it's not their fault your friend came and chose another bat to take.

I am a bit lost on this thread - I totally loved the AS Champ that started it all, although still lost as to why it has no front sticker.

The it became a mythical unicorn thread where you can order a bargain bat with amazing dimensions at an incredible weight, but it appears to arrive much heavier than expected? (a bit like Tinder I guess)

My key take away is - lovely bats, decent price, thin handles but the weights are a lottery (and your mate can swap what you actually ordered for something else even when/if you do get it right)

So to answer your first question.
I removed the front stickers just to see if there was any knot or blemish? And then I thought, what the heck, I will oil and give the knocking to the entire face (from top to bottom)

So to get this bat, I waited for about two years - I had placed my order and asked them that I am not in a hurry, just get me a bat in this dimension. So finally a super light cleft arrived in their stock and they whittled the bat.

And this got me spoiled.
I placed an unfair and unreal demand to get another bat in 2 lbs and 6 Oz with 38 mm edges and tons of extra meat; however, it's not all my fault. The factory should've told me straight up that your demands are ridiculous, and we can't make such a bat. I now doubt that the actual bat that was made for me (the one that had a blemish and was rejected by my buddy) would not be 2 lbs and 6 Oz either. It's an unrealistic demand to be honest with you.

So instead of meeting my unfair demands, they might have made a bat according to my specs BUT did not consider the weight. How nice! Were they just trying to make a sale? tried to teach me a lesson? They are too dumb to read and understand all requirements? I don't know the answer.

Yes, bat prices are definitely a bargain. There is absolutely no doubt in that. The bat that I received, is too good to be true for $150 shipped. This is what? £118 for a brand new G1 bat.
I am slightly disappointed that I got a 2.10 but at the same time I remain somewhat at peace when I get quoted AUD$ 895 plus AUD$ 75 shipping for a Smasher bat that will be AT LEAST 2.8 (nothing lighter than that) - that's what? £555.00 for a damn cricket bat?

At the end, I think it shouldn't be too hard to resell the AS bat, and get my money back.

I think AS still remains a good option as long as you are fair and reasonable in your specs. Probably 2.10 is an average weight for a good bat made by AS.

This is the problem. It is just a common issue. People shouldn’t expect low density cleft for $150 and stop making unrealistic  requests. Either spend big bucks on low density cleft bats or expect a very dry bat.

If it took you 2 years first time around?

Why did  you expect the new one straight away? I don't think the request was unrealistic... I think that you thought they have these clefts piled high and laying around... is what was unrealistic. Your friend chose the bat and you still haven't seen the original bat?

Nope, haven't seen the original bat.
But I am 99% sure it's not 2.6.

I am still curious though, so I will pursue to see if they still have it? If yes, I will take a look.

If i were u i wouldnt place unrealistic requests like that. Cause the thing is they're achievable. And the result is not something u would like. Maybe at first but u will regret it later. I paid a good penny to get the Ca dragon 50mm version specially made for myself from the Ca factory and they managed to get one made for me that weighed only 2lb8oz fully dressed. Yes 50mm edges barely any aoncaving and 2lb8oz! The problem was it was dried out excessively to achieve that weight and didnt last 6 months even with repairs every other game. U cant tell that its dried out when its new. Its only when u start to use it that u realize and by then it is too late to return it.
If u ask for unrealistic specs they will achieve them but u wont like the results. Trust me!
