Yesterday I struggled against outswing. Ball was swinging away quite a bit with good bounce and to be honest I could not even touch it. Mostly I let it go past scored only 5 off 29 before playing stupid shot and caught in slip.
Could you all please advise how could I improve against or atleast play outswing.

Don�t go chasing the ball. Wait for the bowler to come to you. A few go good leaves outside off stump, they may go searching on your pads and then make them pay.

As above ....dont chase the ball. See the line of the ball and play the line of the ball, dont budge. This is what i would call good playing and missing , as opposed to chasing the ball , which will be bad playing and missing (or nicking off).

As above but I would add that to help with this do not be afraid to take an off stump guard (presume you are RHB). That way you easily know anything outside of you is missing and will force the bowler to bowl straighter for easier runs straight down the ground.

I didn't chase the ball but let it pass but then wasted too many balls. At one point I thought moving towards towards off stump to get in line of ball. Was it good idea? And/or should I step outside crease to decrease the swing?

As an opener you get used to the new ball outswinger and it's usually late swing that causes problems i find the keyistocorrectly work out where the ball will pitch and move into the correct position covering the off stump.
1. Watch the ball
Is the bowler holding it with his middle and index finger either side of seam with the shiny side pointing towards you with the seam angled towards the slips.
2. Get to the pitch of the ball as this reduces ball swing time.
3. Play with soft hands bat angled down this kills the pace of the ball
4. Don't push the hands and bat towards the ball or try to punch the ball as this creates edges to the slips.
5 if the ball swings early just cover your off stump off the front or back foot raise your br bat and let the ball go through to the wicket keeper. Or if you are looking to score hit with the swing off the back foot through the backward point third man area.

Stay legside of it, fling the bat like an oar and smack it over cover/point.

Bat outside the crease. I have relatively fast hands but have found its the easiest way to face a Duke ball

I know why people are saying bat outside of your crease but also consider batting deeper in your crease, this gives you more time to see the ball and what it's doing, and importantly judge the length of the ball.

Batting is about always playing to your strengths, giving yourself as much chance as possible to score runs. For example, i open the batting and by far my best shots are square of the wicket against the short ball, so i bat deeper in the crease, to help pick up length early and importantly to turn as many balls into short deliveries (my strength) as possible.

Indeed agree I think both work if you are comfortable . For myself i have got so used to batting outside the crease whether it's swinging or not as I like pace on to the bat .

I need to consider going back into the crease 🤦

As i said though it is whatever works for your strength, one of our top order bats prefers to bat out so far out of his crease if the ball is swinging/its a low deck, that when he is marking his guard its on a length!

When you bat deep in your crease beware of late swing your more likely to nick it and it will carry or get trapped on the crease

It doesn't matter where you are standing if the bowler pitches it in the right place, it will be late swing if that's what they bowl like / are able to get - a good bowler will always adjust their length to accommodate for you batting out your crease and get that swing etc... perfect example is Jimmy bowling to the Indian batsman batting out there crease all series, he still got that late swing and nicked them off all series.
