Joker Prices
« on: February 15, 2010, 10:29:57 PM »

After talking talking with retailers today, we have come up with the following prices for the Joker...

Grade One- RRP £200. (Forum members £185- extra £1 off if you are a member of our facebook group...)

There will also be a lower grade (Grade 2/3) bat available- thought this will only be available through retail. We have suggested £145 to retailers as an RRP for this.

We will take pre-orders up to the launch date from forum members for £180 delivered.

I went to see various retailers here in the South East today, and had mostly very positive responses.  Beckenham Cricket Specialists weren't so polite, however, so if anyone has a spare minute and is a little bored/mischevious, feel free to drop them an email asking them if they'll be stocking the Joker...

Cheers guys.

For me, this thread is almost as interesting as the Talisman £400 bat pictures... when will we be hearing more about the concept and the design? and with some more pictures?

You're selling this new radical bat which I assume is meant to improve performance (or at least save weight) for less than your standard performing bat?

Haven't seen it yet so can't say if the prices are correct imo, but £200 RRP through retailers for a G1 is very cheap. As they'd be selling at £150ish.

Good work guys- just to point out that, I'm not being childish (well a maybe little), a few people politely said 'thanks but no thanks' this afternoon; Beckenham Cricket Specialists were the only ones to be rude about it.  Not cool...

I can't wait to see the promise of revolution with any piece if cricket bats, but when it's a English company, the promise is even greater!

Is the £200 the selling price or the RRP? As Tom said very cheap if RRP.

Thinking about the design, unless there is something completely unique about the design, surely the only way you could do it would be to have the bat similar to the Newbery Uzi and have a really exaggerated profile so the biggest edge point is 45mm and the biggest spine height is 70mm for a 2lb 10oz?

Sorry- long day.  You're right- by RRP I was meaning what the shops would effectively charge.  The 'RRP' would be £240, same as the Shadow, with shops taking their discount off down to £200 odd.

The Grade 3 will have an effective price of £145, with an 'RRP' of £180.

The forum prices will remain for the time being.

The prices are still low for the grade one especially, but I don't want to repeat the mistake made by a better known t20 bat of pricing people out the market.  I also am advertising cheaply/sensibly so have to recoup less by bumping up the price of the bats.  Some nice chaps from here have also offered to help out promoting the bat- perhaps recognising the link between the less spent on advertising etc. and a lower price for customers.

A 2lb 10oz Uzi wouldn't be that size though... not even close.  If what you mean is have a ballooning edge size, then it's not that- you've seen the preview pics, it's pretty thick at the top...

Which T20 manufacturer has made a mistake and priced people out of the market?

I just thought the Upfront twenty20 bat was too dear at 89.99... Didn't realise it's now on sale for under £50- I stand corrected.
