Bat handle thicker
« on: September 04, 2018, 09:05:38 PM »

I have a very thin handle at the moment and would like to make it thicker without adding an extra grip. I know a lot of people use tape I’m just wondering what tape people use and we’re to get it from. Someone I spoke to also mentioned weighted tape if anyone could help.

Thank

You can either add an extra layer of binding or wrap the handle with Zinc Oxide tape to make the handle feel thicker :)

I think the weighted take you're referring to would be lead tape (the same as you'd use on golf clubs), but you'd only apply that to the knob on the top of the handle as a counter balance

Zinc oxide tape
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F151846477585

Twine (you'll also need PVA glue to double bind the handle)

As for a counter balance, if you think it will improve the pick up then adding weight to the top of the handle will make the bat feel lighter.

Thanks mate I’m going to give them both a go, how much zinc oxide tape would you need to be used for 2 bats you reckon? Thanks again
