Hi folks

Just wanted to give you a heads up on GM 2019 - we are coming towards the end of our B2B Trade launch which has taken place over the last week. The public launch will be on October 17th 2018 at Noon - at that point, our website will be updated with the new range and GM DXM English Willow bats will be available from your favoured retailers for immediate purchase / delivery.

As hyperbole is not in my vocab, I wouldn't dream of saying that this is the finest range of cricket equipment ever assembled. But it is and big respect to the boys and girls at GM Central for planning it and making it happen. Trade response very enthusiastic indeed, not only to the range - which I guess is important -  but also to the spare ribs and crispy lamb  on Tuesday night!

We aim for unparalleled consistency and quality of our English Willow bats, all Made by England's Best in our own factory in Nottingham. Each of our bat shapes is distinct, has different playing qualities for different styles of play. I am continually astonished that so many other brands (a) don't actually make their own bats as they have no factory or bat manufacturing knowledge or heritage (b) seem to have single or limited shapes with different stickers (c) don't make their English Willow bats in England. That is just not on in my view given that the basic raw material (English Willow) is only indigenous to the UK.

Anyways, big thanks again to our wonderful staff and hope that you will enjoy seeing the range on October 17th.

Really looking forward to the GM range been my brand of choice over the last 2 seasons and my current Neon is arguably the best bat Iv ever used

You’ll be able to buy and receive your new items on that day as well though. Other brands who rely on stock coming in from overseas are unlikely to be fulfilling 2019 kit orders in October

With all due respect, I am not sure why just because a certain raw material is indigenous to one country would necessarily make that country the most skilled in utilizing it in a final product. Countless examples could be provided across various industries.

It was great to meet Edward and Richard on the launch date.  I really liked the range, can't say too much until Oct 17th. The bats will be available in our  shop on 17th Oct. I visited the factory and saw the whole process of GM bats being made. Thank you Ed and Richard for arranging that. Can't wait to have the GM range in our shop

Not my point at all. As it happens, we are the most skilled in the UK, but the broader point is about felling a tree in England sending it 3,000 miles to be processed and then - in the case of the UK market - sending it 3,000 miles back. Terrible eco credentials.

Are people at liberty to say anything about the range, i.e wrt prices or range or blade lengths or anything at all?

Love GM bats, and used many over the years, always great quality for the price.  Still can't let go of my 8 yo Hero.

Regardless of whether I agree with this or not, that's a statement of your opinion, not a documented fact. You're obviously more than welcome to your opinion as is everyone but @ca_gold is correct in everything they've said.

Some would argue there's greater skill in hand carving a cleft the old fashioned way than using modern machinery for a large portion of the manufacturing process. There's plenty of debate surrounding the subject on the forum - always interesting to see different opinions coming to light!

Skill was not what my opening post was about so am unsure of the relevance of the original reply.

Important to us is to deliver consistency and quality, and our World leading processes and people do just that.
