Interesting about the handle

GM website suggests there was a difference in quality

But retailors arguing there's not, or a retailor shall I say after speaking to GM, between 808 and 909 model

So never got to the bottom of it

Another difference - 909s typically can be in lower weights while 808 on higher weights..

Hmm, fairly set on the 909 then. Nearly pulled the trigger tonight... Should probably see how things are looking on payday & how my eBay listings go first.

I'm waiting until Friday and the tour! Make a real informed decision.

Do I really want to spend more and get a LE? Or settle for a Original or 909...  :(

Will it bug me if I get a 909...  :( :o :o  Will cost me more as I may have to pay extra to bribe my brother not to tell the Mrs! Although I have been softening he rup and comparing it to if she had been given an invite to a factory where they make designer handbags...  ;)

Still open on the model until I have seen them all.

Wow seems the smaller bats are making a comeback

It's a subconsious thing but always feel it's too small and could get yorked

Do you think it will take a while to get used to a slightly smaller blade

540 is not even and inch taken off so I guess not that much of a chnage

Honest answer, no. Just hold the handle in the same place as you would a "normal" length blade.
You're only thinking about it because you know there's a difference. If nobody told you it was a shorter blade, I doubt you'd even notice.

I used a GM with a shorter blade in 4 or 5 games last season - had been refurbed and thus was unaware of the difference and could not tell the difference at all - except that the pickup was excellent and it felt beautifully easy and natural to swing.
